Pleasant surprise to find this park within the city. Very nice to walk thru, many places to sit, public bathroom. There is a merry go round, bowling ally, and ice skating rink adjacent. Nice fountains and interesting sculptures.

Lovely green space amid urban sprawl and chrome and glass towers surrounding it...definitely nice place to escape the concrete jungle.

We really liked this place. It offers great views of the buildings around the park, but it also gives you a piece of mind with the waterfall and green areas. Nice place to visit anytime.

Yerba Buena Gardens has been one of my favorite locations to visit and just hang out since I was a youngster. It offers plenty of area to walk around, see the skyscrapers, grab coffee, and play with things at the Metreon entertainment center. It also houses one of my favorite landmarks in the city, the Martin Luther King Memorial which... More

Nice to escape here from the hustle and bustle of SF. Cafes and restaurants available. On different levels with some seating, waterfalls and scattered planting. Little shade.

We met up with a City Guides tour at this location. It was nice and if I needed a place to sit down, this would be a good one. There were people gather and there is a coffee place. There is a museum across the street. I understand that there are a lot of performing arts here. I liked the... More

The Yerba Buena Gardens are a much needed green space in the heart of the concrete jungle of the city. Conveniently located and easy to walk to and enjoy. Lots of walking and relaxing room. Surrounded by shops, businesses and restaurants, so you've got it all. Enjoy. ...

After a busy day of shopping in Union Square, Yerba Buena Gardens is an oasis. There is grass to lie on and a Martin Luther King Memorial with a tranquil waterfall and many of his quotes etched into the walls. There are several restaurants and a children's playground surrounding it as well as a museum of Jewish art.

The Yerba Buena Gardens is a peaceful spot to relax and regroup in a hectic city. It's nice place for a stroll around and under the fountain or a picnic in the grass. I was impressed with the hydration station that allowed me to refill my water bottle,so environmentally friendly.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
