Lovely Spot

Nice to escape here from the hustle and bustle of SF. Cafes and restaurants available. On different levels with some seating, waterfalls and scattered planting. Little shade.

We met up with a City Guides tour at this location. It was nice and if I needed a place to sit down, this would be a good one. There were people gather and there is a coffee place. There is a museum across the street. I understand that there are a lot of performing arts here. I liked the... More

The Yerba Buena Gardens are a much needed green space in the heart of the concrete jungle of the city. Conveniently located and easy to walk to and enjoy. Lots of walking and relaxing room. Surrounded by shops, businesses and restaurants, so you've got it all. Enjoy. ...

After a busy day of shopping in Union Square, Yerba Buena Gardens is an oasis. There is grass to lie on and a Martin Luther King Memorial with a tranquil waterfall and many of his quotes etched into the walls. There are several restaurants and a children's playground surrounding it as well as a museum of Jewish art.

The Yerba Buena Gardens is a peaceful spot to relax and regroup in a hectic city. It's nice place for a stroll around and under the fountain or a picnic in the grass. I was impressed with the hydration station that allowed me to refill my water bottle,so environmentally friendly.

This was close to Park Central Hotel so I visited a couple times to enjoy the sun over Labor Day weekend. There was a very enjoyable music festival on Sunday. Worth walking through the waterfalls and enjoying some of the green space in San Francisco.

We spent a good hour here entertaining our toddler as part of our holiday. I can't recall exactly how much admission was to the play area but it was't particularly cheap. However, the facilities are fantastic and quite high-tech so I imagine it would entertain older kids too - there are loads of things from puppets to printing things and... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
