Beautiful oasis in downtown San Francisco. Sit and people watch or eat...plenty of restaurants and food courts in the area.Tables and chairs and even music concerts over weekends...so pleased we found it!

The Gardens are between market Street and the Moscone Centre. Whilst not very big, especially by US standards, and probably only 2 blocks square its a nice place to sit and relax, eat a sandwich in a well landscaped leafy area not far from the downtown high rises and the bustle of Market Street. There's a quite impressive water feature memorial... These gardens were close to our hotel and just a short walk. Well manicured and normally a hive of activity with students enjoying the day when the sun shines

If you have luck and enjoy great weather, as we did, you'll enjoy the whole walk. Beautiful gardens, nice views from surrounding buildings and good alternatives for having somthing to eat and drink. Plenty of local people enjoying the day, having a break. I would recomend going close to lunch time.

I thought this place would be a lot better than it was. Since it's supposed to be a garden I expected to see a lot of flowers, but there weren't very many. There was a children's Creativity Museum, which appeared to be closed, and a carousel which was under construction. It might be a nice place to sit and relax... More

The Yerba Buena Gardens are just gorgeous. THe open green space was full of people enjoying the sunshine, and the Martin Luther King fountain was a joy. I love that you can walk behind the fountain and read his speech. There is an infinity type fountain along the top that is great to sit neat for pictures. THe flowers were... More

First experience watching Ti Chi in the mornings. So peaceful. Watching the elders of the community walking laps inspired me. Many colorful flowers. Right next to a central street so easy to get to.

We have a 10 year old, so there is so much to do here. Walk around, see the water feature, go to the Metreon Theater, cross the bridge to go to the Yerba Buena Center with outdoor playground, bowling and ice skating. Especially since the SF Moma is closed for renovations, this place is nice to have.

I had a couple of strolls round here during the day. It's a good place to sit & have a coffee & sandwich. The waterfall at night is all lite up but it seems to become the night shelter for the vagrants of which there is plenty of in this area after dark.

Last day of November and glorious sunshine not to be missed. We walked to these gardens on Mission, very near to Union Square although you would never know it from the ambience. A truly delightful place to sit and watch the world go past with a number of cafe facilities nearby. A special feature within the gardens is the impressive... More
