We spent a good hour here entertaining our toddler as part of our holiday. I can't recall exactly how much admission was to the play area but it was't particularly cheap. However, the facilities are fantastic and quite high-tech so I imagine it would entertain older kids too - there are loads of things from puppets to printing things and... More

Yerba Buena Gardens is part of an 87 acre space that has been recognized as one of the top 30 urban parks in the U.S. It has one multiple awards. There is a mixture of open space, restaurants, cultural facilities, housing, etc. The history is fascinating (see the YBG website) and park of an urban redevelopment plan in an area... More

it is a great place t visit. even if you are I a hurry, take some time and enjoy this beautiful garden, or even better come and have you sandwich while seating on the lawn. We attended a free concert on Sunday at noon. it is a nice place to spend with kids as well.

Nice and relaxing, with people in good mood. Good food court right next door, and Martin Luther king quotes

An interesting place to relax and enjoy in the middle of Downtown SF. The good part is that you don't have to spend money to enjoy this place. A lot of things happening usually. Street performers, artists, etc.

The green open space here, along with the Memorial waterfall are a welcome calm within the bustle of San Fran. Not huge or exceptional but a nice place to sit and recharge your batteries. Lots of eateries are around the perimeter of the garden so you can grab food or a drink and eat outside before hitting the city again!

We were fortunate to be in San Francisco while Yerba Buena Gardens Festival was in progress. We spent two afternoons there for special entertainment being offered during the festival. The first day was for a concert by the Electric Squeezebox Orchestra, a 17 piece combo. They are very talented, playing pieces composed by quite a number of their members, all... More

I really enjoyed sitting in the park and eating my sandwich from the cafe. The sandwich was pricer- but so good I came back for more a few days later.

The park is beautiful, and people there were active, doing things like practicing acrobatics and skating so there were many things happening. Relaxing, not boring.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
