We spent an afternoon wandering through Union Square because my wife happened to forget her shoes when we packed, and needed some for our theater trip that evening (I actually do believe her, but it certainly sounds a little fishy :) Overall, the stores are pretty much no different from what you can find at your local mall. Of course... More

Ok so I am not a big shopping fan but to me Union Square was a fantastic place to sit and watch people!! while maxing out their credit cards.... I love just sitting and people watching, going about their business interacting with family and friends and for me Union Square gave me some time out and interesting sites. There were... More

Union Square is fantastic for shopping as every shop you could imagine is within 5 minutes walk of each other, also its the end of the line for the cable car so has great tourist feel to it, a must see if going to san francisco. I wouldn't get a hotel here though if I was a tourist, we stayed... More

The shopping was expansive and unending but being from NYC it didn't impress me. It has Macy's, Nordstrom's, etc. and if you want to spend time indoors shopping in a "mall-like" stores then that's fine but why go on vacation to to shop in mall stores?

Busy place. We ventured to Union square to have breakfast at Sears Fine Food. I have heard great reviews of this place and the Swedish pancakes.. but it was really just average and overpriced. No childrens menu either. Here you see bussiness people in suits, and homeless. Lots of shopping but I wasnt in SF to shop, I could do... More

We took a cab from the Ritz over to Union Square to do some birthday and Mother's Day shopping. Wow, what a place! So many shops, so little time. We had a great time exploring Macys, enjoying the view from the top, relaxing at the square, shopping at Saks and Victoria's Secret. A not to miss attraction while visiting the... More

Surrounded by good shopping--nothing we don't have in Mpls so I didn't buy anything but it was still fun. Found some Tiffany earrings I loved and will try and forget about. The center of the square was filled with artists selling their paintings. Some very nice stuff.
