This Center is a pleasant place to go in San Francisco in the Embarcadero area - thus the name Embarcadero Center. There is a variety of good places to dine such as Gaylords for Indian food Fuzio for Italian, Patriot House which is a Gastropub, and Green Bar (buffet style so easy to get one's lunch during lunch hour) and... The Embarcadero Center is a lovely area. There are numerous restaurants and shops. Also, many local vendors set up their tables with local art and jewelry. There are quite a few hotels within walking distance. I stayed at the Hyatt Regency and there were many things to walk around and see.

We generally visit the Embarcadero when we are in San Francisco. It has a great Cir Le Table store and some really interesting fine foods. The craft booths outside are fun to look through, though there is little of quality amidst the junk. The mall itself is quite pricy. This time we were there on a Saturday morning and found... More

We went to The Embarcadero Ctr and Chinatown, found the center much more appealing for real shopping & browsing. There are many different eateries, specialty shops (for cheese, meats, mushrooms), pottery, photography, etc. Easily accessible on BART, and we were lucky to find a parking space nearby for our car. Great views of SF Bay, good for taking pictures... The... More

Great shopping. Beautiful views by the San Francisco Bay. Right next door to Chinatown and several art galleries, two Starbucks and two Bart stations. Can't wait to return . . .

What a pleasant experience! The area has definitely developed into an attractive, artsy, unique venue since my husband and I lived in San Francisco years ago. Great place for personal shopping and for gifts created by artsy vendors. The Embarcadero Center is enriched with unique restaurants, coffee shops,, and bakeries. We rode the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to the... More

I didn't realize this is much more of a market than a destination to be able to sit down and eat lunch. Interesting places, but not a spot where it is easy to find seating - especially for our family of 6.

I tend to like this particular company. They have several tours developed around the City, and in the East Bay, all centered around eating/discovering delicious places and things to eat. I have not been disappointed with any of the tours I have taken with them and can repeat them, as I am doing with new people, the Embarcadero Tour included.... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
