A short uphill walk over the far side of the Golden Gate Bridge brings you to Battery Spencer and the start of the Marin Headlands. This is probably the best viewing point to see the Bridge.

I made the trip from San Fran on an electric MTB bike with a mate. We crossed the Golden Gate on the way to Sausalito and made a stop at Marin Headland. Best thing we did that day. To see the best views of the bridge and harbour I recommend a stop here!

If you like views and want a nice picture of San Francisco you should go here. Although sometimes it's windy, its nice to stay there enjoying these views.

Wonderful views, worth dealing with the crowds. Drive up to the top, and walk the trails. You won't be disappointed.

Highly recommended if you have a car, or if you are physically fit to pedal your way there. I can't tell you how many bicycles I saw crossing over the Golden Gate Bridge. Not many took the high road up the mountainside to take the Marin Headlands. However, if you do have a car, you must go. The views are... More

On clear days, you can see Farallon Islands, Angel Island, Alcatraz, the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge and the East Bay. We took the Coastal Route vs the Tunnel Route and drove up Conzelman Rd. Along there way, there are multiple spots to take a scenic picture of the GG Bridge, however, many of these... More

I read about going to Marin headlands to see the Golden Gate bridge from the other side of the bay. The pictures looked amazing and it seemed pretty easy by bus ( as we didn't have a car). The 76 bus goes there on weekends ( and perhaps holidays), and it wasn't too long a trip. However..... the reviews I... More

Fabulous sceneries on the Bay and the Golden Gate. Drive up to the hill to discover military forts and the implication of these places during the war. Definitely pieces of history for you as well as for kids. Then drive further to the beach to admire the well protected animal sea life, the shore and more forts you can reach... More

The Marin Headlands is a very busy area with cars, buses, R.V's & hundreds of cyclists winding their way up the hill. Over GG bridge on Hwy 101 to first exit Alexander Ave, just past Vista Point. Then take first left, turn through tunnel under highway and look for signs to Hawk Hill. Weather can change dramatically in a few... More
