The views of San Francisco from the Marin Headlands is spectacular. We were there in the afternoon and had a hard time finding a place to stop and park. But it was worth the time spent.

Lovely views of the GG Bridge here. Tough to find parking on a nice weekend afternoon when everyone’s out. Better on weekdays to lessen the crowds. Pics from the lowest and highest parking lots are best.

For my 69th birthday, on October 18--I took a seven mile hike in the Marin Headlands. Fortunately the MUNI 76X takes you from downtown (at Samsone & Sutter) all the way to Rodeo Beach. It will stop along the way within the park. I got off at the Stables stop--took the Bobcat trail to the Alta trail to the SCA... More

Muir Woods, always good. Calm your mind. Soothe your heart. Have lunch at Pelican Inn, a kind of old England fancy Inn by exiting the valley road west.

We were pleased that we got these views - to the Golden Gate Bridge and downtown San Francisco, across to the Oakland Bay Bridge and also Alcatraz. But great minds think alike so there are plenty of other people looking for a place to stop. Be patient. Spaces turnover quickly.

If you want to see a phenomenal view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the SF skyline, this is the place to go. I'm trying to get into photography and this was a great place to get some landscapes of the famous city. We lucked out on the day and got a beautiful view, however the fogs coming through are... Along with the many trails , this is the perfect spot for views of the Golden Gate bridge with the city behind . Parking can be difficult , especially on weekends . Last weekend we used one of the lookouts to watch the Blue Angels routine . Weather can change in an instant here . The fog can roll in... More

The view back toward the city is alone worth the short jaunt over the Golden Gate Bridge, especially if you happen to hit it on a sunny day. You can spend as much time in this area as you'd like, plus there's a bit of history here. A must-see in the Bay Area.

Such a great view. Take the coastal trail , you will be glad you did. There are several forts and on a clear day, you can see the golden gate bridge. The waves are gorgeous.

We visited San Fran at the perfect time of the year - we briefly stopped in the Headlands to take some shots of the scenery and to enjoy the views. It was an excellent day and it seems that everyone was trying to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather so it was a bit overcrowded - but nonetheless, we... More
