pier 39 is fun for a few hours..go to the wharf on saturday and walk to the ferry building for the outdoor farmer's market and the great indoor shopping. see the sea lions at pier 39. take the boat from pier 33 to alcatraz. eat somewhere else. more

I had read some bad reviews about Pier 39 but we had a nice time there. it was busy and packed with tourists but the Sea Lions were a must see and they had some interesting shops and good food on the pier. I would definitely plan an afternoon or eveing trip to Pier 39 if traveling to San Fransisco. more

Even though this was the "tourist" thing to do i had to go to pier 39. The boardwalk and all the shops were all really pretty. The best part were seeing the sea lions at the end of the boardwalk. We went during fleet week so as we walked down the pier we had jets flying above us. more

My family enjoyed walking to the pier. The sea lions were amazing- so many of them! We had lunch at Bubba Gumps which had very pretty views of the bay. The shops seemed expensive compared to others along Jefferson Street in Fisherman's Wharf. There are several things one can do or just sit on the bay and do nothing. more
