This place is fun...If you live in bay area or you are visiting SF, and have nothing else to do, you can always enjoy a walk here. I read reviews before going there that said its a tourist trap, but it is not. It was not filled with just tourists, there were locals, teens, families having good time. There were... More

Has all the charm and ambience of a carnival midway. If you want to capture the feel of real San Francisco, this isn't the place.

Lots of entertainment. Went on Black Friday so very busy, but also went the next morning when quieter. The sea lions were worth seeing first thing, without all the tourists. Sealions sneeze in a morning!

After a refreshing walk around Pier 39 and watching the seals, you can enjoy a delicious seafood launch at one of the many great places there. I had launch at "Fog Harbor" fish house and the Salmon was amazing. I'm sure you'll have a great time there.

Lots of shops and cafes to browse in, friendly people, street performers and the sea lions all add to the atmosphere. Reminded us a bit of an area of Disneyland, but nicer. Great shops.

Yes this is what I came to see, ended up visiting many f the shops as they offer quite a variety of things to buy and they were reasonably priced, there are allot of offers for palm reading by random people walking up to you, the seals have the end of the pier to themselves and are really cool, they... Very much a tourist trap but it's not pretending to be anything else. There is a great tourist info center on the second level. The sea lions are undeniably enjoyable to watch.

Pier 39 has street performers, shops, and restaurant and tour boats that leave from the docks. If you are lucky you can also see the seals that sometimes hang out on the platforms by Pier 39 A great place to get a feel of the bay.
