Pretty much every cliche' thing you ever imagine about a tourist stop...but, would I go again? Yep!! It was loud. It had the smells from grilled foods and the ocean. It had carousel music. It had clanging bells. It had LIFE!! Everyone was smiling and having a great time and that's what a tourist stop is supposed to have. If... More

Very touristy but fun nonetheless. Best to go early in the day to avoid the crowds. Loved seeing the sea lions. Went on a clear day and could see for miles, that was nice! Lots of cute shops and restaurants.

We didn't even know about Pier 39, but stumbled across it on our way back from Alcatraz. Such a cool place, we went back the next night too! Lots to see and do, plenty of shops and eating places. We thought it had a lot of charm. There is a great popcorn place that make the most delicious popcorn, and... More

I disliked that there were no sea lions around that day. I guess it was too cold for them. I dislike that a plate of seafood runs you a good $32! Geesh! And I dislike that the cable cars were EXTREMELY packed going back into the city. Because Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 are so popular, I feel that more... More

Can't imagine coming to San Francisco and not seeing this. Have seen it many times but it hasn't lost its appeal, a little gimmicky but the sea lions are such a favourite. Lots to see and do whether it is shopping or eating.

We had a great time lots of stuff to see lots of shopping. Loved seeing the sea lions. They have every kind of shopping you want. You can't see everything in one day so plan at least 2 days there. And across the street are more stores to shop. Well worth going to if you are in San Francisco.

Although this is undoubtedly a huge tourist trap, it's worth braving the crowds just to spend 30 minutes looking at the sea lions. They were honestly so entertaining!

Definitely a tourist trap, but it's fun. Able to see a few sea lions. Lots of souvenir shops & chain restaurants. I had fun walking around though and got great souvenirs for my kids here.
