Public tours of the Anchor Brewery are available each weekday, free of charge, by reservation only. The walking tour of the brewery lasts about 40-45 minutes. Your tour guide will give you a brief history of Anchor Brewing and walk you through three floors of our facility. Children are welcome to come on the tour, but of course may not taste the beer during our tasting session that follows the walking tour. You may have up to ten in your party, depending on the availability of space. Altogether, the tour and the tasting last for about 2 hours, and tastings are only available to those who take the tour.

For a real San Francisco experience visitors should check out the plant where this signature San Francisco beer is concocted. The brewery is located 1705 Mariposa Street on Potrero Hill. A tour, which can be arranged on line costs $15.00 but includes a beer tasting which I know from experience is well worth the price of admission. Here’s some background... More

Any brewery tour that begins and ends with beer tasting is my kind of place. The tour includes just enough information about the history of Anchor Brewing Company and the different beers produced. Multiple tastings of various beers included at the end of the tour. Great excursion.

Our tour guide made the visit informative and fun! Of course the beer sampling was a great end to a Friday afternoon tour!

This was a great tour with a very generous tasting afterwards. The beer is all great, and the tour guides were entertaining and passionate about beer. The whole experience was a lot of fun.

My husband was luke warm about taking this tour. I am the brew lover in the family. However he had to admit he had an awesome time and kept telling me what a great idea I had! The tour is informative. Just long enough to keep you interested. You start with a taste which is a nice touch, then end... More

We were looking forward to this tour ever since we tasted their Anchor Steam beer last year. We thought the cost of $15 per person was a little high, but as we found out on the tour, it was worth it when it came to the tastings. When we arrived, we were directed to the bar/pub upstairs and told to... More

We returned to S.F. a second day to see more, and arranged a tour at Anchor. Our small group was led by a very bright fellow, Nick, who escorted us thought the brewery, explained how the unique brew is created, and then proceeded to provide tastes (actually, quite a few) of the various types and styles of product produced there.... Having been on brewery tours at every given opportunity during my travels, I have to say that I was absolutely impressed with the tour at Anchor on our recent trip to San Francisco. There are very few craft brewers (especially on the west coast) that have the pre-Prohibition history that Anchor has. And to see that our tour/beer guide, Nick,... More

I booked the tour before I left for San Francisco and I am pleased I did because it was fully booked. We were greeted with a beer which was followed by a tour of the brewery and a tasting session. There are a good range of beers on offer and you can buy some to take away from the shop.... More

We needed something to do after landing in SFO and awaiting check in at our hotel, well worth the $15 each. I was worried at first when we visited to come back because there was a tour still going on but I understood why a little later. We came back and were asked to wait in the tasting area, we... More
