Public tours of the Anchor Brewery are available each weekday, free of charge, by reservation only. The walking tour of the brewery lasts about 40-45 minutes. Your tour guide will give you a brief history of Anchor Brewing and walk you through three floors of our facility. Children are welcome to come on the tour, but of course may not taste the beer during our tasting session that follows the walking tour. You may have up to ten in your party, depending on the availability of space. Altogether, the tour and the tasting last for about 2 hours, and tastings are only available to those who take the tour.

As a member of the Campaign for Real Ale for nearly 40 years, I've visited more traditional breweries than I care to remember. But our visit Anchor Brewing will sit right up there as one of the best. The company has been in existence for over 100 years and can rightly claim to be the original craft brewer. The visit... More

Any craft brewer will show you the brew and fermentation tanks. What's special about Anchor Brewing Co's tour is you get the full history of the business that dates back more than a 100 years. I value tradition. You see all aspects of the process. The boiling of the wart. The various fermentation stages. The bottling and canning. And the... More

Get a reservation for $15 and take the tour. It comes with multiple tastings at the conclusion. Nice tour covering the history and beer making process. Tasting is generous. Tour leader was knowledgeable and entertaining. Great for any beer enthusiast.

A nice tour of a local well known brewery. Fun tour, learn a lot about the brewing process and some history behind the company and industry in the US. You need an advanced reservation so don't just show up expecting to get in. You will get to taste their whole line or part as your heart desires.

My boyfriend and I did the 10am tour of Anchor Brewery. We loved it! It felt like a small brewery with its friendliness and passion for beer. To then learn the amazing history of the brewery was very interesting. The tour was all-inclusive in the sense that you got to learn the history and then see the entire process all... More

My husband and I love beer so we were so excited to do the Anchor Brewing tour. The price was very reasonable and we got to see how Anchor beer was made. The guide was super friendly and knowledgeable and we probably had 6 different beers while we were there! Super easy to get to by bus! We got home... More

This was so interesting that it was over too quickly! The aromas of hops and fermentation were pleasing and contrast nicely with the sparse decor. Give yourself time to relax into the brewing process and the obvious joy taken by the guides.

As UK ale fans we researched and booked this in advance when planning a recent trip to SF. The tour was great, very interesting, great guide and some very tasty sample beers to round it off!

When we found out that we would be travelling to San Francisco, I immediately researched Anchor to see if they offered tours as we had tried their beer locally. I booked a tour with them several months in advance, which I would recommend so that you get a spot. The tour was free and included samples of their beers. It... More

The brew tour is a must for all beer lovers. We went to the 10am Monday tour and it had around 20 people. Book early! The tour and tasting lasted around 90 mins. We saw all parts of the process and our tour guide explained everything very well. Beware the gift shop after half a dozen beers- gifts never looked... More
