I had such a great time climbing with these people! I highly recommend climbing with these guides! They are all very knowledgable and experienced in climbing, as well as AMGA and PCIA accredited. I felt very safe with my guide. They take the time to evaluate your climbing skills, and choose walls accordingly to make the perfect challenge! My guide... More

My husband and I visited Acadia this past weekend and did a half day rock climb session through AMGCS. I am a bit of a novice (first time climbing outdoors); whereas my husband has been climbing three times a week for a few years. Our instructor, Dick C., did a great job of finding climbs that worked for our very... More

These guys are great! Very professional and down to earth. I have worked with them for years. They have taught my son to climb starting at the age of 5. They are well experienced and well versed in the latest trends and equiptment. They are patient and understanding of first time climbers. My son loves them! He has even invited... More

I have lived on Mount Desert Island for over 10 years, and have always enjoyed climbing in the park. I have received all of my climbing instruction from Acadia Mountain Guides. A day out on the rocks in Acadia is always a truly memorable experience. I have also been on trips to Katahdin with AMG, both in summer and winter.... More

They helped with part of our mountain rescue class. They were superb: great on the rock, very knowledgeable about their equipment and techniques, and able to teach effectively to a group that varied from learning knots newbies to experienced expedition and rescue team leaders. Also, they were a pleasure to share the day and the cliff with. More

Just returned from 7 days climbing at Joshua Tree, CA with Jon Tierney of Acadia Mountain Guides, Bar Harbor, Me. Wonderful climbing each day. He knows the area well and selected slabs, cracks, faces and just made each day excellent. It is fun and it is also leaning how to do it the right way with Jon. J Tree gets... More

Jon, the owner, has nearly 30 years of guiding experience and it shows. No one in my family had rock climbed before and I, for one, was kinda nervous. Jon put us all at ease with his professional, yet encouraging manner. He made the trip really fun and we all had a great time. It was a wonderful experience. We... More

We were on a cruise that stopped in Bar Harbor. I had read on here about this company and decided to give them a call. From the first email through the day of the climb, I received very prompt personal attention. All questions were answered quickly and satisfactorily. They did require payment up front and I had no problems with... More

My daughters, age 6 and 5, and I enjoyed an incredible half-day adventure with our guide, Jeremy. Our only previous experience was a couple of visits to a climbing gym. The hike in to South Bubble was wonderful all by itself, and the rock climbing was extraordinary. It was just the right level of challenge with the opportunity to reach... More

Our guide (Doug) provided a great climbing experience. I'm an experienced climber and my partner is a beginner. Doug chose appropriate routes for both of us and provided just the right level of information and support. Safety was excellent without being obtrusive. Otter Cliffs provides a unique sea cliff climbing experience, at least for the eastern US. We did five... More
