My friend and I visited Acadia in June of 2013. Both of us wanted to do something adventurous, and we found a Groupon for rock climbing with Acadia Mountain Guides. We had never rock climbed before, and wanted to try it for the first time. They were very accommodating when setting up the climb. When we got there on the... More

This was an excellent guided weekend ascent of Katahdin. Our guides, Dick and Pat, were phenomenal. The trip was reasonably priced and included specialty gear such as double boots, ice axes and crampons, as well as group gear and food. The food, by the way, was excellent. This was a tough two day trek but well worth it in the... More

This was an excellent trip, not for the faint of heart. Our guide Dick, did an excellent job breaking trail, cooking, and guiding us to the Table Lands of Mount Katahdin. I felt that our guide looked out for our safety while maintaining a fun and challenging experience. I would recommend this trip to the winter savvy camper who isn't... More

This wasn't easy, indoor rock wall climbing. Felt as close to the real thing as we will get. Very friendly, patient instructors. Super with my kids (8 & 12) Great location! Climbing cliffs overlooking the harbor at sunset. Can't get much better than that. A bit pricey but worth it. Would definitely do it again. A real adventure.

Phoned Tyler Walker before boarding our cruise ship out of Boston, as Bar Harbor would be one of our stops during the week. He set me up with a 1/2 day (four hour) rock climb with one of his guides. Upon arrival at Bar Harbor, it was a short walk up Main Street to the Acadia Mountain Guides store, where... More

My wife and I had never climbed at all before. Jeremy and Ryan were so great and took the time to really teach us. We climbed at otter cliffs. One climb in the chimney and one on the cliff face. The view was breathtaking! Jeremy and Ryan were great at calming our fears and talking us through our routes. A... More

Spent the afternoon in climbing school and had a fantastic experience. I had previous climbing and rappelling experience, but my girlfriends 8yr old son was a first-timer. The owner gauged experience levels and suggested we try the Otter Cliffs area right on the water. He was spot-on! There was plenty to do for any experience level. Safety was the number... More

Spent the afternoon with our guide, Summer. We did four different climbs, each one more challenging than the last. Summer was awesome teaching us new skills and showing us how to have fun climbing straight up the side of a cliff! Next time we will book the full day trip, requesting Summer as our guide.

I have climbed a lot, but this summer was out of action for 12 weeks. Hence when i went to Acadia Mountain Guides, I asked that the guide start me slowly to regain some confidence. But, still I wanted to have fun. My guide did just that. He searched for some out of the way places by Thunder Hole and... More

My wife and I recently visited Acadia and Bar Harbor for a 4 day birthday getaway from Boston. The whole area was amazing, and we loved the hiking, swimming, kayaking and running. The best activity was climbing with the guide, Avi Katz, from Acadia Mountain Climbing School. We'd climbed indoors and were eager to learn more about cliff climbing. He... More
