I took this tour in July 2011 and can not express how much fun I had. Bar Harbor is all about the water and this tour is the closest one can be with the ocean without physically jumping into the frigid water. NPSK focuses on fun, safety, and ecological sustainability. After a brief equipment fitting, you leave in the company's... More

I am a paddler with some forty years of experience. My afternoon tour with National Park Kayak Tours was informative, safe, and fun! Our guide, Allison, is obviously gifted and experienced in allowing people to experience the outdoors in a fun way. I recommend their tours to everyone. George Stovall. More

We booked a kayak trip with our 9y son. After getting geared up, we were transported to the "put in" spot on the West side of the island. Word to the wise, take as little gear as possible. The dry sacks are very small an you have to wedge them under bungie chords on top of the kayaks. Our 9y... More

I feel sorry for the prior review but I had also never been out kayaking for any distance. Knowing that we were going out for at least 3-4 hours told me this would be a bit of a workout. When one goes out on the ocean in kayaks as a canoe you must paddle in order to move on the... More

My husband and I took an afternoon tour with Michelle as our guide. She was very personable, patient, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable of the sights and sounds. Although foggy with bits a blue sky peeking through, this was still a fun adventure. Touring the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island was the highlight. We spotted porpoise, seal, loons, and cormorants.... More

My mother and I chose the National Park Kayaking Tour because of all the good reviews. We thought that kayaking would be not only a good workout but a way to relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery and wildlife from a unique perspective. However, the trip could not have been more disappointing. Our issues started 15 minutes into the trip.... More

We booked this kayak tour after reading many, many reviews, and they did not disappoint. We watched other kayak groups in the marina where the cruise ships come in and other ships dock; what a stark contrast to where we went - on the west side of the island, in beautiful, pristine, almost secluded areas with abundant bird life (we... Took guided half day kayak trip and cannot say enough. Husband and I with our 10 yr old daughter and 12 yr old son. We saw an American Bald Eagle, 3 blue herrons, seals, porpoises, ospray, and thousands of others. I highly recommend our guide, Llew who took great care to explain everything we were seeing. My 10 year old... More

I can't say enough good things about the National Park Sea Kayak Tour or our guide Michele. We had so much fun and saw lot's of wildlife including a fledgling bald eagle, and his mom. The guide Michele was great and very patient with some of us less accomplished Kayaker's. More

Brian, our guide took us at a leisurely pace to sea harbour seals, a grey seal, an eagle, and an osprey. The equipment works well; it is well-organized and well-run. A very good way to spend a morning while in Acadia National Park. Suggest you take sunscreen, and dress in layers - we started out early and it was cool... More
