We went on the seal and lobster tour. (Me, husband, 8 month old twins, grandparents). This tour was very informative. I know a lot about the ocean and still learned a lot about lobsters and seals. They were very accommodating to our strollers and babies. We got to hold a 3.5 lb lobster and see seals and bald eagles. We... More

I read many reviews and we chose this company because of the larger size boat because I always get sea sick!! We tried going on 3 other trips during our stay and they were cancelled due to off shore fog. So even though it looked beautiful on shore--I am glad they didn't take our money to just see fog. So... We really looked forward to the whale watch and this did not disappoint! The ship is large and comfortable and we soon forgot about the crowd when we got to see several whales on our trip. Thank you for a wonderful day!

Be careful of the weather and pay close attention to what they say before embarking. If they warn of a rough ride, it will be and you may want to seriously re-consider getting on board. They won't go if it's dangerous but they may go if it's a rough ride. We decided to go even with the warning and many... More

We have gone whale watching in a lot of places, this is the best in the US. Took the whales and puffins early tour (about 4 hours), saw 3 humpbacks, 2 finbacks, loads of dolphins and seals as well as an incredible variety of sea birds (puffins, petrels, etc). What really made a difference was the quality of the information... More

Chose this tour because friends and I really wanted to observe puffins. Ticket seller informed us that larger boat would weigh anchor while smaller boat would take us to puffin island. It never happened. Saw puffins only from far distance on larger boat. There were many whale sightings, though. The trip was a bit rough and 3/4 of us were... More

It was extremely foggy so we didn't get to see any whales, but they said they would honor our tickets if we came back within 3 years. They actually rescheduled us for several times during the week, but each tour got cancelled due to fog. We did see some dolphins and if you are a bird lover, there were lots... More

Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company is a professional operation. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our July trip during which we saw white-sided dolphins and humpback whales breaching; even a calf swam closely. Zack, the naturalist on the boat, was kind and helpful. A superb experience!

Unfortunately we did not see any whales on our trip because of a very heavy dense fog. I will credit this company for being so upfront and telling us that we could get off the boat and get our money back before we left since they knew it was going to be a difficult day finding any whales. Tickets are... More

A group of adult friends brought our tweens to go whale watching and we were not disappointed! Pack a windbreaker as it gets cold on the water even during a summer heatwave. The captain pointed out many points of interest on our way to the area where a few whales were known to hang out. The whales one named Spinnaker)... More
