We did the lighthouse tour with this boat company. The staff were friendly and very knowledgable. The tour takes you around 5 or so lighthouses and there is a story along with each lighthouse. Apart from that there is amazing views of the coast line and the narrator can advise you on trails and mountain treks that can suit your... More

I want to like this whale watch service, really I do. I've tried it twice in order to give it a second chance. But the thing is, Bar Harbor is not the best place for a whale watch. The waters are simply too choppy even on the best day. Both calm, sunny days we tried were just absolutely vomitous. Both... More

You spend a lot of time on a gigantic boat but don't see much. They are very conscientious about invading the whales' space, which is fine; but if you are hoping to really see the whales, skip it.

The boat and crew were wonderful. There were a lot of sick people on our boat. The crew to care of the clean up extremely quick. There was a ton of information on whales and they were able to identify the ones that we saw. Overall I would recommend them to anyone.

I would rather pay to be stoned alive than partake on this seaworthy journey. After 20 minutes I would have paid everyone's fare ten times over to be airlifted. The only reasonable comparison is the movie hostel. Awful. Torturous. Everyone vomiting. The ship ran out of Dramamine after 10 min. People being tossed to and fro like rag dolls. Far... More

Sadly, because of extensive fog during my visit, my whale watching cruise was cancelled two days in a row, but I was pleased with how Bar Harbor Whale Watch handled the situation. After the first cancellation, they rescheduled my trip for the next day and offered me a discount on merchandise in their store. After the second cancellation, they gave... More

We went on this cruise on a beautiful October day and basically had a very cold boat ride for 4 hours. No whales sighted. This means that we now have a voucher for a repeat visit within 3 years, but will we be back in the area? Will we want to?

We went on an evening trip in August having spoken to the guys at the ticket desk and asked their advice - mornings and afternoons were having no luck but the evening trips were doing ok. So we set out on a sunny evening. Take their advice - it does get very cold out on the water, so take layers.... More

We signed up for the Whale Watching trip in Bar Harbor for my wife's 65th b/d in early October. The weather was overcast and windy and I was in two minds whether we should go or not, given the $121 it would cost for it. In the end, the idea that we would 'probably' see whales (by the the ticket... More
