If you haven't been in the open ocean, this is a good place to start and maybe you will see a whale. We spent one of our vacation days on the Bar Harbor Whale Watch hoping to see some of the leviathans of the deep. We saw a school of bottle nose dolphin that played around the boat and a... More

Excellent way to see the coastline and islands of the area. Our naturalist was well informed and gave us an in depth look at the history of the area as well as current trends. We were able to see an eagle and her chick as well as seals and other wildlife. The two hour trip was just right to complete... More

OK when in Bar Harbor you are confronted by a myriad of boat cruise options. I knew I had to see the area by land & sea and chose the Bar Harbor (www.barharborwhalewatch.com) Lighthouse Tour for the sea. Blown away by three hour information packed narrative of sea coast, cliffs, islands, lighthouses, cottages, Acadia Mountain vistas. Lingering at sightings of... More

This trip was fun and interesting, with marine biologist Carly and Captain Brice. Their priority clearly was to provide a good experience to everyone. We were provided with good information and an opportunity to see seals and other wildlife. Several lobsters were captured on this educational trip. Well worth it and we would certainly recommend it.

Seeing a real whale in the ocean was on my wife's bucket list, and this cruise definitely lived up to it. Although we were worried about the weather--we're not used to packing heavy coats, hats, and gloves for a summer vacation--we're All glad we did this. The first part of the cruise was out to see puffins. This was ok,... More

Like I said I was worried about sea sickness as I have Vertigo frequently and get motion sick VERY easy. I had no problems at all even though they warned us about "Rough waters". To be fair we wanted the Whale tour but all those had been cancelled due to rough seas so we settled on the Wildlife Tour. We... More

The timing didn’t work out with other things we wanted to do here, so we didn’t feel like we had enough time for a whale watch cruise, but we did want to see Mount Desert Island from the water. The Nature and Sightseeing Cruise was a good choice for us. It was nice to see some of the things we’d... More

No whales at this time of the year but the cruise was interesting. We had a lively commentary from our guide on the history of the development of Arcadia National Park from a playground of the rich and famous to the well maintained national asset that you see today. We saw millionaire's mansions, birdlife including the iconic bald eagle, seals... More
