A beautiful drive! There was so much to see and so many quaint shops to stop at. The ocean views were amazing!

Up close with this abandoned lighthouse on a boat tour at low tide. Lots of seals basking in the 70+ degree weather. Interesting historical story and how families used to live on the island to keep the lighthouse fire stoked. Hard to get a good view of this island, unless you are on a tour boat.

It's nice to see lighthouses like this still working, even though the lighthouse keeper has gone away. The seals have taken up residence out there on the island and the occassional bald eagle. Be sure to see it on one of the many tour boats when you are out and about.

Lovely old lighthouse used for research of marine life. You can't get on the island so taking a boat trip or whale watching will get you close enough to see the seals sunning on the rock cliffs.

Saw Egg Rock light house up close while on a nature cruise. Odd looking but very special light house guarding Bar Harbor. Saw many seals and learned other interesting things about this light house. Very pleasent trip.

We were able to view Egg Rock up close while on a lighthouse cruise out of Bar Harbor. Two eagles were clearly visible along with many other birds. We were unable to see seals on our cruise. It was interesting to learn the history of this light and the fact that it is still an important navigational aid to the... More

Without a boat for access or to get closer, we were limited to viewing through binoculars or telephoto camera lens, but it was still a very special sight, and very prominent within the expanse of the harbor.

We saw Egg Rock Light while on a tour (which was excellent, BTW). There were several seals, a couple of different species of gulls, cormorants, and also a couple of eagles!
