We took this tour as I wanted to see the area without having to drive and what a great time we had the driver kept us informed all the way round and we stopped at some great places for photo opportunities.

For all you camping buffs out there, If you want to camp at one of the most beautiful State Parks in the USA, (in the summer) this is it! Make sure you get to the Top of Cadilac Mountain as well. It is the first place the sun hits on the East coast every morning. A spectacular view!

Tour takes about 2 hours and covers most of Acadia. The driver/narrator provided interesting information about the park, Bar Harbor and surrounding area. Cost is $30 per person. Because of off and on fog/clouds some tours cannot go up to the top of Cadillac Mountain on some days. I have been on two tours and once we were able to... More

We ended up taking the bus tour because the schooner was not sailing that day. The weather was not the best, windy and damp. The scenery was fine but isn't that true of most of Maine. We disembarked up top but it was so raw and windy, we were happy to get back on-board the bus and back to our... More

We were in Bar Harbor, ME summer of 2014. The Island Explorer Bus was awesome! We brought our bikes and they loaded them on the racks. You are transported into the park and picked up at several locations! Also used it to travel to the park as well! No worries about parking your car! Visited here 20 years ago and... More

This is one of the great natural National Parks. Because it is kept in a very natural state, paths can be difficult and even for the sure-footed, a walking stick is recommended. Take at least four hours and make sure to stop at the Visitor Center. There is wheelchair access and an elevator if needed if you park in the... More

The one thing I would have changed on my cruise port stop was that I would NOT purchase the Acadia shore excursion and use this bus system. If you have a park pass, it is free. We lost valuable time and money on the shore excursion. This is a wonderful opportunity to see so much of this great vacation spot.... More

If you like nature as it was, drive the loop or take the tour. Quiet, beautiful, always inspiring. Whether photographer, biker or hiker you will not be disappointed in Acadia.

This is a wonderful service that is free!! The buses run all around the island and you hop on and off where ever you want to go. We went to Sand Beach, this is in the National Park and you will need a park pass, cost is $5.00, well worth it. The bus leaves from the Village Green on Main... More
