Think my review got erase as I was typing so writing again... This place is amazing, totally nature at its best, got to see Cadillac mountain where we learned the fact that Cadillac Mountain, at 1,530 feet, is the tallest mountain on Mount Desert Island and the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard. From October 7 through March 6... More

Had a great time roaming around the Park. We came at first in a tour-bus (tour recommended by the hotel) and the tour-guide ws really funny. The design of the bus is also catchy "vintage-look" and it's open-air. And we even returned the next day in our bicycle. My best-friend and I had a great time and there so many... More

This is a great way to see the island. It takes you to all the spots one has to see. Not a good idea if on a time crunch.

We had a little bit of a hard time finding where to get on the bus, but did manage to find it at the Village Green, several blocks from the pier at a park on the right. This is a fantastic service provided to see many great locations on the island, especially Asticou Azalea Garden--just ask the drive to pull... More

The island explorer is a fantastic alternative to driving. It´s great that such a system exists, if only this system were in every national park. We parked the car when we got to Bar Harbor and never used it the entire five days on the island. It´s very practical if you have bikes because you don´t have to drive on... More

These free shuttles allow you to leave your car in a convenient spot wherever you desire and take shuttles all over the island and into the national park. For a day of hiking or biking, it is really convenient. Just make sure they are still running if you make a fall or spring visit.
