Visited last summer, very cute little winery on the island, they have free tastings as well. Located on the road to Bar Harbor, on a farm, there are grapevines trellissed all around the winery. Some very good fruit wines. They also sell high end cheeses and chocolate. Authentic and non-touristy.

I have visited many wineries before, both in and out of the USA, and the two that were in this tasting room left a bad taste in our mouths! They were curt and unfriendly. They import grape juice and there is no processing going on there.... I would suggest going "around the corner and down the road" to the grocery... More

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your recent vist to our winery. We strive to provide a comfortable atmosphere for wine tasting, and go to great lengths to hire and train friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. If you feel as though you were treated in a manner that was less than freindly and helpful, I sincerely apologize. As with many... More

When we are in Bar Harbor,it is a must to stop in a buy some of their great wines. Our most favorite is there is the ice wine. It is more expensive then your normal wine, but you cannot beat the taste. Your are able to taste some of their wines and the staff in very helpful finding a wine that... More

Thanks for taking the time to rate our winery so highly! Glad you enjoy the Ice Wine, its flavor is exquisite. Next time you are visiting Acadia, be sure to stop by again, as we are always changing our offerings. More

Two friends and I passed the tasting room on our way to Bar Harbor and went back to check it out. I visit a lot of wineries home in Virginia and this was an utterly ordinary experience. The grapes aren't grown on or near the property, or even in the US. The tasting room associate started by asking us what... More

I'm sorry that you didn't find your recent visit to our winery more enjoyable. And I apologise if anything said by one of our staff could be construed as rude. There is never room for that. Yes, like many winerys, we are not currently using our own grapes for our wine. Our vines are still in the experiemental stage. It... More

We stopped at the winery while picking up lobsters from the Travelen Lobster (next door to one another) for our beach picnic. The wines were really good and they even had soda tasting for the kids or non drinkers. We picked up a a variety of wines, mostly chardonnay and the cranberry and a six pack of the local root... Yup, I did the wine tasting. I bought a bottle of cabernet sauvignon... but the real kicker is the fruit wine... I don't generally care for fruit wine and I certainly detest cranberries in most settings, but I walked out with a bottle of their cranberry wine, and my friend purchased the blueberry wine. Plus a block of smoked cheddar.... More

This was not like many other wineries that I have been to. The tasting was free, but they used the same glass for every wine. I was really hoping they used their own grapes, but they did not. They are beginning to grow grapes though. A tour of the winery or grape fields would have been nice. We did not... More

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your recent visit to Bar Harbor Cellars winery. While we do not routinely offer a new glass for each wine tasted, we certainly do offer a water rinse if requested. As far as offering tours of the facility, insurance regulations preclude us from allowing folks to tour a working warehouse with forklifts and other moving... More

Finding local wineries and microbreweries is one of my favorite vacation activities. This winery offers free tastings, although barely a taste. Their reds and whites were average, but their fruit wines are spectacular. I'm usually not a big fruit wine drinker, but their blueberry wine, made from wild Maine blueberries, is sensational!! That's the only wine I bought. They also... More

After my brewery tour I headed just a short way toward Bar Habor to Bar Habor Cellars. Nice place, knowledgeable staff. The Blueberry wine was wonderful; had to buy some to take home. Worth the time to go. Very nice afternoon.

We enjoyed the wine tasting here. We bought three bottles of wine. The only disappointment here was the chocolate room. From the sign in front, and also from what an employee told us, I expected an impressive array of chocolates. It was a small room with an ok amount of choices, but we weren't there for the chocolate so it... More
