We stopped by this winery after arriving in the area. We didn't realize how close to closing they were--and they didn't rush us to leave. We enjoyed their fruit wines most, and took a blueberry and a cranberry with us as well as a couple of pieces of cheese. They offer chocolates and wine accessories and gifts, and the staff... More

We usually start our get aways to Bar Harbor with a stop at Bar Harbor Cellars. Always enjoy the tastings. They have some decent cheeses also. Left with 3 bottles this time. Going to have a wine tasting at home featuring their wines.Try to Blueberry wine, really enjoyed it!

We really wanted to take home a taste of Maine, so we disregarded the past reviews and stopped in for a wine tasting. We were made to feel welcome the moment we walked in. Joel led us through tastings of wines that better fit our palettes. He followed through with wrapping our purchases for the flight home. Wonderful experience.

Stopped by for lunch and tasting a few days ago. Had a terrible sandwich in the cafe, was completely burned and charred black. 1/2 sandwich for 11 dollars. Wine tasting was fun but bought a 20 dollar bottle of the best tasting wine, got it home and it was awful. Definitely not the same as what was given in the... More

I'm sorry that your recent visit to Bar Harbor Cellars did not meet your expectations. It does sound as though you enjoyed the tasting you were given, and I'm glad that compelled you to buy a bottle of wine. That the wine you took home to enjoy did not taste the same as the wine you tried at the winery... More

This was my 2nd time and the wine tastings are always educational, relaxing and fun. If you purchase a 3 pack of wine, you get $3 off total, which is a decent deal. Lots of fun gift type items too!

We have stopped here several times on our way to and from Bar Harbor. We love their wines, on our most recent trip we left with 13 bottles to split between us and another couple. Their Black Barstow and Gewürtztraminer are great. They also make a dessert (icewine) that is wonderful if that's your sort of thing. The only negative... More

We visited after seeing the signs up and the grapes growing. We have been to many many wineries and tastings and love to sample Local wines when we travel. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised at the store. Beautiful rustic area and we thought , ok, this is gonna be good. Like other posters have commented, we,too were... More

My husband and I visited the Cellars with the intention of eating at the farm-to-table restaurant next door, Sweet Pea Cafe. After eating we stopped into the wine tasting room and had a great experience. The store has many local food items beyond wine including cheeses, meats, chocolates, etc. We tried 4 or 5 wines and purchased three bottles as... More

Hello, went here to see what they had to offer. Did the wine tasting. Enjoyed immensely, although found the man conducting our tasting to not be that friendly. He had us taste everything. I would have preferred just saying I'd like to try this one and this one, but felt like we had to listen to the whole spiel. Anyhow,... More

Thank you for taking the time to visit our little winery in Bar Harbor. From only offering 4 wines in 2007, we now stock more than a dozen wines in a variety of styles from dry to sweet. We like to think we have a wine for every taste. The tastings are meant to be informational, and we have found... More

My boyfriend and I had stopped in on a whim to visit the wine-tasting room and left confused and disappointed. I have lived in Europe for 5 years and know how tasting rooms should operate. The sad thing is - is that my boyfriend had never been to a wine tasting room and was excited to try the different wines;... More

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your recent visit to our winery. We try to insure that each of our guests is welcomed and attended to as quickly as possible. As the focus of our wine tastings is as much educational as recreational, we attempt to link a narrative to the tasting. We have found that most of... More
