This was a two to three hour tour around the bay area. The crew was knowledgeable and they did not talk the entire time. They answered the questioned if asked. Pointed out points of interest and animals. They let you enjoy the view. Dress warm if going out because it is about ten degrees cooler with a breeze.

We sailed on the Hallie May - the Margaret Todd is not being used. Yes, the dock is under construction, so we had to be ferried from another dock over to the MT and walk over and around to the HM. This was a pain, but could not be helped. Yes, the crew look like they have been previously shipwrecked... More

Captain Jim expertly sailed through Frenchman Bay on a perfect Bar Harbor afternoon. Park Ranger, Lisa, was very knowledgeable with historic, geologic, and marine life information about Frenchman Bay. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

I went on 4th of July. We did not go on the Margaret Todd we went on a smaller ship, which means it was overcrowded so many people were standing or sitting on the ground. After taking 1 hour to load everyone on on we hardly went out of the harbor. The sails went up but never sailed anywhere, we... More

We did a sunset sail. They motor out of the harbor, set the sails, sail in a straight line, turn around and go back. There is a bit of narration about the boat but nothing else. I feel that we would have been much better off taking one of the narrated cruises that are offered in Bar Harbor. To me... More

Delightful crew. Saw some marine mammals and enjoyed a few hours on a sunny morning. There is a ferry to the boat as the primary pier is under renovation. Fun for families and guests get to volunteer and help raise the sails.

We we're excited to hear that our puppy was welcome to come on the tour with us at no extra charge. My husband helped with the sails and we learned about the history and geology of the surrounding islands. Very interesting and relaxing! Mostly adult oriented.

Sailing was pleasant enough. However, 2 big problems. Pier where they dock is under construction. They have to ferry you out and ferry not big enough for all passengers. We didn't make first ferry and kept is waiting in the dock, in the heat for 45 min. Second problem and someone related. Captain, who is also owner, is ignorant and... More

As a person from a coastal town who has gone on a lot of cruises, I may be a bit spoiled, but this is the worst boat trip I have ever had. First, when we made our reservation, the clerk convinced us to change to a later trip because it had an "amazing musician" who serenaded the passengers, in fact... More

We booked our reservations for this outfitter without reading the TA reviews. Then I read the reviews and was concerned that it would be an unpleasant excursion. Still, we went anyway and decided to see for ourselves. We sailed on one of the 2 masted schooners (Mary Louise Todd?) because the Margaret Todd was being refurbished. There was no delay... More
