The Margaret Todd is surely a sight to behold. We enjoyed our trip into the bay with the sails raised. We relied on the engine more than the sails because there was very little wind. Still, a pleasant activity.

Paid for a 2pm sail on August 31, 2015, expecting a wonderful sailing adventure with speed....and got a very slow moving boat with no sails up like the picture shows, no speed, just a VERY SLOW moving boat. I could not wait for the ride to end....What a WASTE of MONEY. They only put the sails up if there is... More

Great crew and nice narration....bring a jacket as it gets chilly......good time spent....choice of 3 different times and 2 different types of vessels.....we enjoyed the sailing ship. Saw a couple seals and bald eagles too.

Gave an average rating because it was super foggy, cold, and a bit rainy. But the crew, especially James, was super chatty and friendly. They tried to make the best of a non-sunset cruise.

We sailed on the Halie and Matthew Todd 2 staff windjammer on August 16, 2015 at 2 pm. We booked on the same day that we sailed. NOTE: If your intention is to see/photograph great views or wildlife this activity is not for you, as the boat stays within Frenchman Bay (though we did spot an eagle towards the end... More

This is a review for the 'ranger trip' So firstly the weather wasn't great but thats ok - you can always make the best of bad weather; apart from the crew and boat didn't even try to. The boat doesn't sail so much as drift (it isn't actually properly set up to sail it seems), the crew (aside from the... More

We booked this cruise through our hotel and were very excited to sail during the sunset. But, the next day the fog rolled in and we were sure that the trip was going to be cancelled. But, alas....it was not! It should have been. This was a miserable experience from start to end. From the moment we got on, James... More

We went out on the sister ship since the Margaret Todd was have her sails redone. I have heard that this is not normally a fast and windblown excursion, but more a slow lufting sail around the harbor. We did the 2:30 sail and had probably 20 knot winds kick in from an afternoon storm building. It was outstanding! We... More

We have sailed all over from Key West to Hawaii to San Francisco, New York, Boston and this was the WORST 'sailing' experience we have ever been on which includes losing my mast in high wind. At least then we were moving faster than 2 mph. This was the proverbial 'Slow boat to China' or would be more accurate called... More

The evening of our cruise was beautiful! We had wonderful views and a great wind. The interactive part of the cruise was great- we enjoyed helping raise the sails. The music was lovely and provided a relaxed atmosphere. We felt very safe on the boat! A few areas of concern- climbing across another boat and seeing empty takeout containers, garbage... More
