Take the sunset cruise. Get there early as the outer seats fill up quickly. Also take a jacket and, of course, a camera.

The trip is little more than an hour and a half puttering around the harbor. Due to the huge number of lobster traps to avoid the captain steered with the motor most of the time. If you are up for a mellow jaunt around the harbor then its worth the time. Major bonus is that they allowed our dog to... More

I wish I had read the reviews before wasting time and money on this. We chose to go out because it was a perfect sailing day--good breeze, perfect temperature. However, they hoisted one of the four sails halfway and the rest not at all! They claimed that they didn't need any more sail because the wind was strong, but they... More

We rode this schooner about 15 years ago and again today. The sunset sail is romantic, beautiful and tranquil. It's worth the money. Bring a bottle if champagne if you drink.

I think we went on the sunset sail in 1999. We went again today and it was just as beautiful. Slow but so what. We got to view the beautiful islands, see porpoises and seals, and watch the amazing sunset. Plus I didn't get seasick!

The entire time we were on the ship we were under the power of a motor and not the sails. Two sails were hoisted but not used. It was a gusty afternoon and we were hoping for a fast ride, instead it was slow going. There are so many lobster buoys in the bay that it's difficult to maneuver thru... More

It was a hour and a half which was plenty long to sail around the harbor. My Husband helped raise the sails which was fun. They allow you to bring your own wine and appetizers on the boat which is nice. We did the sunset cruise and the scenery was beautiful.

This was more a "tourist's sail" than a "sailor's sail". The wind was brisk at 2.00pm so they didn't raise two of the sails and put reefs in one other. This meant we moved incredibly slowly when the wind was strong enough for us to really feel as if we were sailing. The staff were sloppily dressed. One was wearing... More

I love the Margaret Todd. This was my second time out (the first a few years back). Once again we sailed along with the family dog and another as well. The ship is comfortable and they allow you to bring your own wine and snacks aboard. The guitarist was new to me and quite good. I loved the atmosphere and... More

Advertised as a nice sunset romantic cruise. Not romantic when you have a 5 yr old and 3 yrd old that cried and whined the whole 2 hours. There really should be an age cap so that adults can enjoy a nice enjoyable evening. There are day cruises that kids can go on.
