Happy to have found Kebo from the Forelinksters.com guide to the best public golf courses. It's an interesting history as the 8th oldest golf club in America, but the course features are the star here. Drivable par 4's, the par 5's reachable in two, blind shots and doglegs, small, devilish greens, all extremely well conditioned at a favorable greens fee.

Course is in good shape. Greens are very tricky. Play with a local so you'll know. Cost is fair but their rental clubs are very pricey, so you need to bring your own.

I play Kebo each summer I visit Bar Harbor in prime season; otherwise, I play the NE Harbor private course before Memorial Day or after Labor day...much cheaper and just as much fun. To me the first nine is easier than the second. Hint: drive your cart down the fairway to see the green on those blind shots. You pay... More

Can you plan a course with lots of hill? Do check this one out for the view as well as the challenge. Ask what president needed about 20 swings to reach the green on the back nine.

First trip to Bar Harbor and a friend strongly recommended I play the Herbert Leeds course. Very well conditioned and enjoyable. Good layout with numerous blind shots and plenty of movement in the greens. Second trip round the course would be much easier. The pro and staff were extremely helpful with tee time and rentals. Played late Saturday in 2... More

One of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses you will ever find. The views are beautiful and the staff is wonderful. The Pro, Peiter DeVos, is one of the best for the area.

Kebo Valley Golf Club is a classic - that remains as one of the best courses in Maine. The greens have been in great shape each year I play, and the course is challenging, yet fun. I manage to make to the course at least every couple of years. I plan on going back - many more times!

Gorgeous golf course with a friendly staff. This course is the eighth oldest golf course in America according to a recent newspaper. As for the views as you walk or ride they are amazing. The course is well kept. I found it very reasonable for the level of green and fairway they have. The greens are pro/am fast so if... More

A gorgeous, really old course where it's hard to concentrate on the game with the scenery shrieking "look at me!" But the course plays charming tricks - a rocky rill tossed my ball onto the green, and a huge pine tree deflected one drive to center fairway. Go in the late afternoon to take your time and revel in the... More
