“A national treasure”

One of the best ways to experience this magnificent park is by horsedrawn carriage. We took a 2-hour sunset ride through Wildwood Stables in the park. Informative (intriguing Rockefeller history),with friendly drivers and STUNNING scenery. A must see! More

you must drive to the top of Cadillac Mt. in Acadia Park. The view is great. Then drive down to Bar Harbor, a lovey seaside town. Just DON"T take US highway 1! More

This is such a beautiful park and can be enjoyed so many ways that it deserves more than a day to experience. Driving the loop around the park affords a great overview with many places to stop to take in the breath-taking scenery. Drive up Cadillac Mountain and look down at Bar Harbor and take side roads for different ocean... More

Taking the loop drive was very scenic. Drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain and the day we were there we were actually standing in the clouds. Somehow we were more excited about that than being able to see any distance away. Lots of photo opportunities during the drive. More

Acadia National Park is absolutely beautiful but our guide/bus driver, Stan, who was quite knowledgeable of the area just didn't stop talking for one second on the 3 + hour tour. The few chances that we had to get off of the bus were very short as he spent time talking while we were parked which only allowed us a... More

We took a bus tour of Acadia. The driver was extremely knowledgeable -- we guessed he was a history teacher -- well spoken, friendly and informative. We learned so much more about the park and its history than we would ever have known if we went by ourselves. More

Well worth purchasing the $12 audio tour of the "park Loop" drive. Lots of detail & suggested stops & historical factoids on this cd. Try to hit Thunder Hold 1 1/2 hrs before high tide to get the best effects. One of the most beautiful parks we've toured More

Our family of five travelled to Maine this summer and had a great time at Acadia National Park. The views are breathtaking and the park staff were very helpful. The shopping in Bar Harbor was a treat and the little diners had fabulous food! I would definitely recommend it for families! More
