The picture provided is incorrect. The Ocean Trail is actually part of Acadia National Park; a fairly flat and smooth trail we have walked from Sand Beach to Thunder Hole. I believe it continues. Great vistas of the ocean, rocky coastline, nature. Tired? The shuttle will pick you up and drop you off at designated locations :-)

The only trail open and had to take the brunt of the people there. It was beautiful this time of year. Work was going on Thunder Hole. I have learned that driving 600 miles this time of year is risky..lesson learned..but the beauty is amazing.

If you have the time to walk the trail it is absolutely worthwhile! We went as the leaves were changing in October and the brisk clean air helped catch your breath as you marveled at the sea, sand, rock formations, and the landscape colors. We have scheduled a trip to go back again October 2015 because we didn't get enough... More

Very nice walk along shore. Just had a tragic death in the family and this was quite a refreshing stroll. Beautiful homes also.

Great place to walk and just enjoy the beauty of the earth! Fresh air and so much to enjoy! Kept jumping on and off the rocks, stopped a couple of times to just take the view in! This is one of those places where all your worries are forgotten for a moment!

The ocean trail is probably the best trail in Acadia National Park for hiking with families. Beautiful views of the ocean and the rocky shoreline. The trail is fairly flat, especially considering Acadia's other trails. However, for the adventurous person, there are still many opportunities to climb out onto the rocks.

The Ocean Trail is amazing! I would definitely go back time and time again. It is a flat, easy walk.

We find Bar Harbor very tacky and full of knick knack shops geared to the hundreds of cruise ships that dock in the harbor every month. That said, this is a nice little walk but not as magnificent as the Ocean Trail Path in Acadia National Park. It is worth doing if you are there already. One idea is to... More

This was a well maintained trail that skirted the ocean around the edge of town. A cruise ship was in and docked right off shore which made for a great picture. I don't believe a lot of people know this trail is available to anyone for walking since it almost appears to belong to the hotels in that area. It... More

I am commenting on the Ocean Trail Hiking Path in the Acadia National Park. I noticed that some of the pictures were of a path that runs along the ocean at Bar harbor. They are both nice, but certainly NOT the same thing. Here is my review of the National Park Ocean Trail Path...We didn't have a ton of time... More
