I could have spent weeks in Acadia National Park. It was a fabulous place to tour. We also enjoyed the Park Ranger hiking tours. This was a real bonus. Can't wait to return.

This is a trail that families with young children could easily enjoy. The views of the ocean are excellent and the trail is flat the entire length.

We used the ocean trail as a scenic hike back to our vehicle at sand beach. The views are very nice and there are many areas where you can venture out into the rocks and watch the crashing waves along with stopping for a minute at thunder hole. The only drawback is the buses that stop and unload throngs on... More

great views. easy flat walk. probably just under a mile each way. if you are in bar harbor don't miss this. it's really wonderful. we did it on our first day here and might do it again before we leave. i wrote it takes an hour but if you only walk it it could be much less

We walked from sand beach to past otter cliffs. My one piece of advice is take the side trails as much as possible... It takes you out onto outcroppings and I dare you to find a bad view on this trail.

this is a simple walk along a preset path mostly adjacent to the Park road. Some stunning views but nothing over the top to satisfy hikers.

Spending the day in Acadia and needed a break from the woodland scenery, so we decided to head over to the Ocean Trail. There are several lots to park in and access to the trail is quite easy. The walk itself is not challenging and the views are spectacular. My teen aged son thought the rock formations by Thunderhole were... More

You may want to park your car in one of the many marked lots or on the right side of the street wherever allowed and take this walk. One a clear bright day this walk could be pretty scenic and you could end up stopping every now and then to take photographs. The more adventurous may step onto the bedrocks... More

This was one of my favorite hikes! It was an easy walk but so beautiful. I could never grow tired of seeing Otter Cliffs and the beautiful coastline of Maine. You pass Thunder Hole and end the walk at Sand Beach.

The easy to moderate hike along the ocean gave us beautiful memories. The contrast of the Cadillac pink granite with the blue water was breathtaking! Be sure to start at Sand Beach and look for the Otter Cliff bus stop if you are traveling on the Island Explorer free bus.
