The ocean path is just that, as it follows along the rocky coast and allows you to take in many wonderful views starting at Sandy Beach and going all the way down to Otter Point. It is a flat trail that does offer some spots that allow you to go down onto the rocks and get a better view of... More

If there is any drawback, it would be lack of access between the ends of the trail. Other than that, the scenery is gorgeous!

I definitely recommend this walk. It's a great way to get up close and personal with what nature has to offer at Acadia. The view is beautiful from the car, yes, but the walking path has many offshoots so you can go out onto the rocks, listen to the ocean, feel the salt air and just BE. Your walk takes... More

I dont get the hype. You see same views from the road because the trail is RIGHT next to the road. Even with proper planning for tides Thunder Hole was a bust. Its NOT stroller friendly-i have a jogging stroller that did pretty good but at points it neededed lifted and towards the cliffs it was impossible with rock stairs,... More

The cliffs and the ferocity of the ocean were beyond amazing. In the morning the sun was beating down giving us such a great experience. So much fresh air and nature...

Almost every turn brought you by some great scenery. Small island but very slow speeds. Still that allows you the time to see things and not miss them. Only trouble was that Wednesday seemed to be trash pickup day and almost every driveway showed it.

Boy did we feel silly for not realizing it before - this trail does not end at the Otter Cliff. And every foot of it is surrounded by breathtaking vistas. Go the whole distance.

The picture provided is incorrect. The Ocean Trail is actually part of Acadia National Park; a fairly flat and smooth trail we have walked from Sand Beach to Thunder Hole. I believe it continues. Great vistas of the ocean, rocky coastline, nature. Tired? The shuttle will pick you up and drop you off at designated locations :-)

The only trail open and had to take the brunt of the people there. It was beautiful this time of year. Work was going on Thunder Hole. I have learned that driving 600 miles this time of year is risky..lesson learned..but the beauty is amazing.

If you have the time to walk the trail it is absolutely worthwhile! We went as the leaves were changing in October and the brisk clean air helped catch your breath as you marveled at the sea, sand, rock formations, and the landscape colors. We have scheduled a trip to go back again October 2015 because we didn't get enough... More
