We walked this path from Sand Beach to Otter Cliffs with our 3 year old, 9 year old, 2 year old in a backpack and 2 small dogs. It was a nice family walk, not hard at all, and we stopped multiple times along the way to walk out onto the rocks and take in the scenery, we stopped for... More

Ocean Path runs along the road from Sand Beach to Otter Cliffs. Along the way there are many places to climb out onto the rocks next to the sea. A delightful way to spend several hours and a must do walk.

We walked (as I wouldn't really call it a "hike") along the Ocean Trail from Otter Cliff to Sand Beach. The views are non-stop and quiet beautiful from any point along the way and there are so many opportunities to step off the trail and explore the rock coastline and find your own spot of quiet to enjoy away from... Hike along the cliffs starting at Sand Beach and continuing to Thunder Hole and beyond. There is also a trail that can be accessed from Sand Beach that goes through the woods to Great Head, a rocky peninsula with beautiful views.

Whenever we visit Acadia National Park, we always walk along this trail, sometimes having lunch on one of the rocks. When we went with our children, they loved to climb all over the rocks.

For non-hikers, this is a rewarding trail, reminding me of the Cinque de Terra. Along the way, there are beautiful views and the ability to to hop-scotch across rocks along and beside the beach.

The trail itself is a bit of a joke, just a path alongside the road which sometimes ventures into the woods. The real draw is climbing down at various points onto the rocks and just sitting and enjoying the views and a packed lunch or searching for little tidal pools (we saw a ton of snails and some mussels). Be... More

Walked from sand beach to otter cliffs. The views were amazing. We drove a vehicle, so we had to double back to our car, but the walk was not strenuous and we enjoyed it enough that we didn't mind backtracking. Highly recommend this path.

This was a nice path along the road to allow for all levels of walkers to enjoy the scenic views. I recommend stopping at thunder hole during high tide. It's impressive.

A very pretty, easy trail with spectacular views of the water and Sand Beach. Lots of places to veer off onto cliffs for pictures or picnicking too! A definite must see.
