If you need to purchase tickets to enter the park, you can get them here but be warned they do not open before 8:30. We should have stopped and purchased it the day before.

Very helpful staff. They found places to hike where dogs were welcome and for my age and hiking ability.

Since we stayed at the Best Western nearest this entrance to the Park, we used their services and maps more than once. They were very friendly and helpful in helping us plan a three-and-a-half day visit to the Park. There is accessible parking for those unable to hike up the fifty-plus steps up to the Visitors' Center.

First let me say the walk to the visitor center from the parking lot includes MANY steps up and may not be suitable for everyone. If you are able to make the climb, it is well worth the trip. You can purchase vehicle pass here and get maps and recommendations from the helpful park rangers.

Lots of stairs but worth it. At the top there is a lot of information about Acadia and very knowledgeable people. You can also start waling the carriage trails here

An excellent welcome to the park. The workers were all helpful, and we were able to figure out our way around the park. There is a large map in the middle of the space that can really help visitors orient themselves.

A stop at the visitors center is a great place to start if you have never been to Acadia before. Even if you have, it's fun to stop. I've been coming to the park for many years and I still like to stop there. You can see the 3D old school map of the island, watch an intro video, browse... More

Gave very good advice for a visit to the park. Definately recommend visiting if plan on doing any part of the park on foot.

Fairly small with limited things to purchase about the park. the rangers were often so busy you would end up leaving without seeing anyone. The park busses stopped at the center and on crowded summer days this is a great place to start your touring on the hop on hop off park busses.

The visitor center has a really cool raised relief map of the park. The rangers are very helpful in selecting trails and carriage paths. Tour buses come in frequently and so the place can get really crowded.
