Unless you want a better hiking map of Acadia, (recommended), do not bother to drive out to this minimal and unimpressive visitor center. Been to much better nat. park visitor centers and not worth the out of the way drive. But be sure to pick up a hiking map of all the trails. Gift shop is very minimal and we... More

This visitor's center is the perfect starting point for your trip through Acadia National Park. It has a wealth of information to help you find your way. We picked up a good map of the carriage roads which came in very handy when we were hiking. The park rangers and employees were friendly and eager to assist the many people... More

Before exploring Acadia Natl. Park on our own, we stopped in at the Hulls Cove Visitor Center. Staff were very helpful. We also watched a short video there. Small gift shop. Maps and directions for the park are available. There were a lot of steps up from the parking lot....then we later noticed there is an easier ramp/grade. If you... More

Plenty of parking, nicely appointed center, knowledgble staff and park rangers, efficient, and great shuttle bus service throughout the park and Bar Harbor areas.

It was okay...lots on the history, but we go to the Smokies a lot and their visitor centers are amazing. We were kind of disapointed.

As with all national parks one should stop at the maine visitors center for maps and ranger advise. There is also a nice short movie about the park that was informative

Both first time and returning travelers to Acadia NP should begin the journey here. There are 2 films about the park and both are fascinating. Displays are very interesting. Staff is helpful in planning activities and the shop is well-stocked.

Take in the movie before going on the road trip (or bike trip) of Acadia National Park. It's well worth the time. Note: be prepared to drive SLOW...and take in the beauty...there is a lot of traffic on these well-paved roads...but it's slow going. Or take the carriage routes by bicycle if you want a real experience.

The rangers were great helping us decide which trails to hike-- lovers Gorham Mtn & the option to climb Beehive. If you're scared of heights or looking down, be sure to go with someone who inspires confidence, but it was a highlight. Back to visitor center--- we hoped for overview of park, history, geology & didn't get that. The film... More
