Weather was changeable, but considering the alternatives, the clear,crisp days provided spectacular views, whether atop Acadia Nat'l Park, or aboard an excursion boat. Walking is easy amid the many shops & eateries - super fun!

This is a stunning place of great natural beauty coupled with charming little communities. We were in the area out of season in early April. The upside of this time was there was very few people in the area so little traffic and no problem at all finding places to park. The disappointment was that most of the park roads...

Breathtaking.,,,the drive alone was great...and the sunset, ah may zing! When in Maine, make sure you take a drive through Arcadia. Make sure you bring your camera! The birds in flight is truly something else!

MDI is so beautiful! I have loved visiting MDI since I was a child growing up here in Maine. My mother would always take us to Echo Lake, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Cadillac Mountain and so many other beautiful spots there. For years my wife and I would go to Mount Desert Island right after school opened as that was when most of the people "from away" were away again. Now the cruise ships come in followed by "leaf gawking season" , so the fall is not always less congested. However, the air is crisp, it tends to be less crowded...
