Hawaii’s oldest and largest soaring operation, Original Glider Rides has been operating tours at Dillingham Airfield since 1970. Soaring the skies over northwest Oahu, panoramic vistas unfold as your pilot guides you in this bubble-topped aircraft. You’ll be in awe as you fly on the wings of the wind with sights and sensations you’ve never experienced before. A 20-minute flight can attain altitudes of 3,000 ft. or more. Single passengers can kick it up a notch with specialized add-on flight services like aerobatic loop-d-loops and Eagle mini-lessons.

Great flight with Dave, third flight for us with Honolulu Soaring. We saw whales breaching on previous flight. Unless you are already on the north shore, advise you call well in advance in case winds are not favorable so you don't make the drive for nothing. Skydiving drop zone adjacent in case you want to watch or jump. Restrooms available

My wife and I went up separately and we were both very impressed with our pilots and the ride. Awesome adventure over one of the most beautiful parts of the island... the North Shore, and over the only part of the island (Kenai Point) that is not accessible by vehicle. Our pilots (David and Sean) were very accommodating and gave... More

I took the Combo Package which included scenic flight, acrobatic ride and hands on mini lesson and I loved every second of it. The pilot Dave was absolutely great, explained everything to me, flew breathtaking loops, swirls and upside down maneuvres always asking if I'm feeling ok. It could not have been better. Thank you so much for that experience.... More

I opted for the acrobatic flight and let me tell you when they mean acrobatic, they mean acrobatic: loops, rolls, more loops, etc. I did not realize a sailplane was capable of such maneuvers. It was a blast but fortunately this part of the flight lasts less than 10 minutes. The remainder of the flight was really nice with great... More

Last time, I have done this was 32 years ago and so much live in my Hawaiian memories, it was on top of my list of things to do this time. The Dilllingham airfield on the North shore, is a good hours' drive from Waikiki, more if there is (as there usually is, especially in the afternoon) heavy traffic. The... More

I was somewhat disappointed with most of the things in and around Honolulu but the glider flight made up for everything. What a great way to experience the Island. You really get much more of a feel for the topography after viewing the big picture. Don't miss out, this is a fantastic experience. It was kind of comical how the... More

The weather was awesome. One of the few perfect visibility days. I had planned to drive, but once I saw the traffic in Honolulu, I chickened out. I called the day before and asked if they could provide a ride. They sent Lee Masterson. Worth every penny! Lee provided a very comfortable ride, taught us more about the island than... More

Hanging upside down in the air floating etc. Pilot was kind and great, we videod it with go pro with almost no additonal fees paid... More
