Interesting but not very well presented. They do a great job with the gift shop but not so well with the attractions. A bit costly but there is a military discount. Train ride was uneventful and took us past the same 2 types of pineapple fields, those waiting to be planted and those with young plants. Seems logical that they... More

Our party of 16 had heard that this place was a must do. We spent a few hours at the plantation and unanimously felt that our precious island time had been wasted. We took the train ride into the fields. Nothing to see except red dirt and black plastic. There were a few pineapple plants, but none of them had... More

We visited the plantation, took the train tour. While it was historical interesting the available food, tour etc were average at best. The entire place appeared to have lots of deferred maintenance. The gift shop was huge, prices a little high

I think the highly varied reviews of the Dole Plantation are more a reflection of varied expectations rather than experiences. Understand that the Dole Plantation is a nice pineapple themed rest stop/mini-theme park on the way to Haleiwa and the North Shore - nothing more. Every two years our extended family enjoys our brief stay at Dole. The bathrooms are... More

While we only road the train thru the plantation, the recorded story was very informative. Our tour was a tad bit rushed, so we didn't get to get the infamous pineapple ice cream, but we plan to return on our own later in the week.

My husband liked riding the little train through the fields, but it really was just too touristy. One of the packaged treats we brought home were inedible. This was the sugarless pineapple candy which contained no pineapple, only chemicals. The heavy chemical taste made it inedible. There was a charge to ride the train and see the garden which should... Had a short visit to the Dole Plantation on our way back to Honolulu from a tour to the North Shore. The only part of the visit I really enjoyed was learning about the founder, James Dole, and walking through the pineapple "garden" where many different varieties of pineapple could be examined. There were several information posters where I read... More

Did the train ride and the garden tour. Enjoyable but not a must see. Had lunch there and the food was good. Dole Whip was delicious.

While in Oahu a very enjoyable place to visit is the Dole Pineapple Plantation. It is a very, family, friendly place to visit without being a tourist trap. The lush gardens and plants are gorgeous! There is a train that takes you throughout the plantation to see the fields where the pineapples are grown. This was very interesting for our... More

Felt that they do not care about the visitors. Did not see the ticket booth attendant handing out Audio-wand on his own when you buy the ticket even though it is included in the ticket price. You have to ask for it. I had to get in the line again to ask for it when I found out about it.... More
