I respect what Dole did for Hawaii and the pineapple industry, and Dole Plantation I believe at one point was set up to do the same. However, as previous reviewers have said, this is basically one big tourist trap. It is a fine stop for a few mins to take a break and definitely get one of the pineapple whip... more

Yes, this is touristy, but it's still fun and informative especially with a three-year-old in tow. We stopped here on our way to the north shore. My daughter loves pineapple so she was pretty excited to go. We didn't do the maze or gardens, but we did take the pineapple express train ride. I thought the narrative during the train... more

Visited the Dole Plantation on Nov 17th using the GoOahu Card (free entrance and train ride using this card, I highly recommend it). The Dole Plantation is approximately 30min drive from Waikiki depending on traffic. Make sure to put on sunscreen, wearing comfortable shoes, sunglasses, an bring your camera. The train ride was fun and had a commentary on the... more

There really is not much to see here. There is no free pineapple. You do get a small cube at the end of the Pineapple Express Train Ride which costs $7 and takes you on a loop of 'some' pineapple field along with showing other scattered plants. There is the Giant Maze which costs $6 (but you can get a... more

The Dole Plantation is definitely worth a visit! All the attractions are cheap (~$6) or free, and a lot of fun! There's a hibiscus hedge maze in the shape of a pineapple, a campy train that gives you a great view of the pineapple plantation, gardens, and of course the famous dole whip- pineapple soft-serve ice cream with pineapple on... more

This is a high pressure, rip off plantation. Before you even go in the door, they are trying to scam you with coupons and high pressure to buy pearls. I think everyone in the plantation store has their own consession. As you walk around, people are asking you to try somethin, look at something, or by something. Train ride was... more

we found this place to be a ridiculous tourist trap. If you go with kids, be prepared to be nickel and dimed to death for the train ride, the maze, terrible food and a huge gift store filled with useless stuff. I can't imagine that there aren't a million better things to do with your time than stopping here. I... more

We were glad we stopped here. We each got a dole whip which was delicious. The garden tour was reasonably priced, and there was an area to walk around and view without paying. The shopping was kind of over-priced imo, but still interesting to look at. If you are doing a circle tour of the island like we were, it... more

My family and I stopped here on our way to the North Shore this past February. We really enjoyed exploring the grounds and the huge giftshop. There are beautiful pineapple plants, a large koi pond, and beautiful peacocks just roaming around. We had lunch here as well. The food was great, and the Dole pineapple whips are a must! Also,... more

Good place to stop for a break while driving tot he North shore. We didn't do the train ride or the maze but younger kids would probably enjoy them. Gift shop is fun and the Dole whip is yummy!! more
