As for adults was train excursion very boring, I hoped I will see some process from pineapple plantation and I got view just look from train on empty plantation and couple of workers made from paper:(. Money waste and tourist trap. Garden was quite OK and well kept. Ice was also quite OK, but home made would be much better!!!... More

If you like pineapple this is the place to go. Nice gift shop and you can take a walking tour. They also have a small restaurant and make sure you try the ice cream with pineapples.

Four of us took a trip up to see the Dole Plantation and all of us had a great time. We road the Pineapple Express and learned quite a bit about the history of the pineapple in Hawaii and the how James Dole built his company. The train ride is definitely aimed at smaller children but its short enough with... More

The Dole Plantation is a very busy tourist attraction! We recently stopped in for one of their delicious Dole Whips,a refreshing pineapple frozen dessert. They have every kind of souvenir you can imagine. There is a maze and a train,as well as a small restaurant. Just be prepared when the tour buses roll in,it gets very crowded.

The Dole plantation was a disappointment, but pretty low key so it wasn't a big deal that it wasn't better. It might be a good stopping spot for people touring the island by car with little kids that need to stop along the way. We rode the train ride after having had read the Dole story on the placards in... More

I was prepared for a tourist-trap with a gift shop and was hoping to see some interesting artifacts from the plantation's heyday. I was not prepared for the narrated tour of the plantation on the "Pineapple Express", a short train ride around a section of the plantation. If you knew nothing about this history of the annexation of Hawaii and... More

This really is just a big pineapple-themed store. We loved the pineapple whip frozen dessert, but didn't feel like paying for the train or the maze. It reminded me a little of the Hershey plant tour, but at least there the ride is free and you get a free chocolate bar before they dump you in the store. Unless it's... More

Younger kids will enjoy the train ride. I thought the gardens were nice and I did learn some local agricultural / economic history though it was very much "sanitized" for the "feel good, Disney- crowd". Gift shop is ridiculous but the pineapple soft serve ice-cream is ok. Bathrooms are clean and staff is friendly. This is very much a tourist-trap-like... More

I only did the train which takes you around the plantation and tells you about the history. The train is kind of small but the plantation is beautiful and worth seeing. Also the history is interesting if you're into that sort of thing. Gift shop is huge and fun in itself. Pineapples everywhere!!

Part of our Circle Island tour. Thank God we didn't waste time and money coming on our own. Expensive, touristy, crap stuff. Couldn't find anything worth buying - did have a Dole Whip - boy the line was endless and then overpriced. Bought a postcard for the scrapbook and it took 10 minutes to get served big big huge waste... More
