If you haven't made this hike before, I would suggest on enlisting someone who knows the trail to go with you. Signage is minimal. Finding the trailhead and then staying on the trail for the first few miles is questionable. The hike is definitely worth the effort. Lot's of fruit on the way including strawberry guava and java plum. The... More

It was a nice stroll and easy walking but the falls were a bit disappointing to say the least. Its ok for a stop of on your way to somewhere else but don't make the trip if its a spectacular waterfall you are looking for

Read all of these views and thought ya, moderate hike, "can be done in flip flops" "can swim to the falls" "muddy but worth it".... Well let me tell you about a little hike I like to call " nam". One day it started it raining and it didn't quit for 4 hours, we been through every kind of rain... More

The problem with Laie Falls is that it is a long hike with kind of a lame waterfall at the end. I usually enjoy chatting with friends on hikes but there is a big stretch of this hike that makes it difficult because you basically have to walk single file. If you want to spend your day hiking you would... More

This was a great hike! We did after a good rain which made for a very messy hike. The views area fantastic and the waterfall is beautiful. I am not sure how cold the water was because I didn't get, but it looked nice. Wear good hiking shoes, clothes you don't mind getting dirty and lots of water! Great hike,... More

Did this hike on the last day of our trip. Took us 1.5 hr to get to the summit. We were never able to find the train that leads off to the waterfall. Apparently we missed it going up and going down. Oh well, the vistas were still beautiful. BE CAREFUL - I sprained my ankle coming down because I... More

Six of us plus a one year old started the hike around 11 in the morning. It was hot and humid. My wife, her daughter and son-in-law made it all the way to the top. Almost three hour up and down. The rest of us only went half way. I couldn't take the heat and humidity. The falls were not... More

The scenery is beautiful. Life guards and life jackets available free if you want to swim to the falls.
