I have been to Lanikai Beach since 1968, and it is still much the same as then. Absolutely beautiful, magnificent beaches and water on the windward side of O'ahu to the east of Kailua. Wonderfully timeless windward hideaway.

This is close to my son's current home ... so we walked over here several times while I visited him. Agree that early mornings are the best time to be here. Parking could be a nightmare (DON"T park in the bike lanes on the street). There are several paths cutting between properties to get to the beach. Never stay super-long... More

Family stayed just a few doors down in Kaialua & walked over in the mornings to see the sunrise at exactly 7:02 a.m. There are older ladies who seem to be the beach patrol & give you the once over in appearance & shush you or use your litte voice when on the beach waiting for the sunrise-it's a majic... I wanted to find a new spot to catch the sunrise on Oahu, and I am happy I stumbled across this place. The view of the sunrise from here is simply beautiful, although Halona Blowhole is still #1 in my opinion. The sand is white, the water is clear, and the waves are perfect. You are sure to capture a... More

Wow! We saw a turtle laying on the beach when we arrived, then we spotted one swimming close to the shore. After a couple of minutes of swimming around, another one arrived with it. It was so fascinating to watch them together in the water. Amazingly, one walked a shore right in front of us. There were 2 volunteers there,... More

One of the nicest beaches I've ever seen. It is listed in National Geographic as one of the top ten beaches in the world and I can see why. The only downside, perhaps, is that a lot of people have read the National geographic, so the beach is quite popular. Parking is limited so get there early.

LOVED Lanikai beach! It gets a bit crowded on weekends, but it feels very private during the weekday. Parking was not a problem, and it was very relaxing, not to mention breathtakingly beautiful!

I've been to a lot of beaches in my lifetime, but Lanikai Beach is by far one of my favorite beaches! Lanikai literally means "heavenly sea". You can find this beach on the windward coast on Oahu. The beach itself is rather small and about 1/2 mile long and is constantly ranked among the best beaches IN THE WORLD. A... More

Highly recommend Lanikai. Arrive earlier to get parking. If you want to stay out of the sun, you'll need to bring an umbrella. The water is pretty calm so you'll see a lot of SUP and canoeing. Some people even canoe out to the Mokes. We did SUP and it was a blast.

This is one nice beach on the windward side of the island. The beach is wide with plenty of space but was a bit crowded. We felt like we fit right in as there were a ton of locals at the beach. Parking can be tough so be prepared to look around for a bit if you do not get... More
