The beach is hugged by beach homes and magnificent mountains The water is so many vibrant colors there is no way any cell phone camera can capture the beauty of the different colors , no seaweed ,sand finer and cleaner than any sugar . In one section of the opening to the beach there are A Lot of parachute surfers... More

This is a great beach. It's decently wide, quiet in the mornings, and full of fun people going sailboarding, kiteboarding, kayaking... you name it. Every morning we'd stroll the beach, enjoy the sunrise, and meet new doggies out with their owners for a morning stroll. The surf is pretty calm, and we got lots of swimming in. Loved every minute.

Really nice beach park with great restroom facility and showers. Wonderful shade trees near beach to sit in the shaded area if you like shade. Nice swimming. Overall my favorite beach park.

Beautiful beach, clean and fresh and the water was lovely and clear. The waves are great for body boards. Lovely views.

This is a nice little park area on the Kailua beach side. It has nice grass park area. Pretty clean outdoor Lavatory and nice shower for after swim. Limited parking for obvious reasons. The locals just walk or bike over.

Kalama Beach Park is a great spot to park and enjoy Kailua Beach. They have restrooms and showers, plus easy access to the beach from the parking lot. However, it is a small parking lot, so you might want to get there early in the day.

This gorgeous beach is totally bordered by a single family home neighborhood with no hotels. It has beautiful sand, great surf for body or boogie boarding and was never crowded (we were there in March). There is no road noise and a beautiful view of the curved coast. The parking lot filled up but we only had to park on... More

We were staying in Kailua and this beach park was closest to our rental. The beach is very long, and peaceful. There were no crowds at all while we were there, mostly local people walking with their dogs. The beach is sandy and the water was great. There were no lifeguards (that we saw) so keep an eye on your... More

Worth the drive from Waikiki over the Pali Highway, you won't be sorry. Well-maintained, very picturesque and clean bathrooms to bot. bordered by a quiet residential upscale neighborhood, regularly patrolled by security-- you'll be safe here. Just a gentle reminder--sharks normally come in closer to Hawaiian beaches to feed around 4:30 pm, so to be on the safe side, plan... More

My wife and I just returned from a week in Kailua. This beach is truly serene, beautiful, and picturesque. We did visit Waikiki Beach also, and I don't know why people decide to go there instead of this gem. Waikiki is so packed with tourists who never venture beyond Waikiki and perhaps Honolulu, which is great for the true beach... More
