We traveled to Kailua by bus from Honolulu, hoping to go for a quick swim and stop at the Nuuanu Pali Lookout on the way. Unfortunately the bus doesn't stop anywhere near the lookout but we had great views along the drive anyway. Also, the bus service requires a little patience, and half a day was not long enough to... more

What a beautiful , Awesome beach! We rented kayaks and went to the island , wow!! what an amazing experience.I recommend it. Only NASTY thing we notice was, just like wai ki ki, people with there cancer sticks smoking away and then burying there buts in the sands. One lady had on a shirt that said "save our reefs! yet this... more

This is my favorite beach in Oahu. The sand is soft and the water is so clear. It's the perfect beach to go wind surfing. Also there are great waves that are really fun. I recommend this beach to everyone. more

Found this beach to be perfect for swimming. The water is quite calm and very clear. The scenery is very beautiful - the mountains and small island in the distance make for stunning views. There were people out in kayaks and some wind / kite surfers farther down the beach. Only downside was the sand blowing around when it got... more

If you don't want a beach with high waves, and you want to spend your day on a quiet beach, this is your perfct place. The water is so clean and blue that you can see your foot. No waves are allouwed in this natural pool. Also the temperature of the sea, I think that here you will find the... more

Very beautiful beach! Great pictures....Post card like! Read posted warning signs. My daughter was stung by portugese man of war and didn't have fun after that. Try to go on a weekday. We went on a Sunday and it was very busy; hard to find parking.Last time we were there it was almost empty. more

My husband and I drove all over Oahu and snorkeled at Hanauma Bay. While we were completely mesmerized by the snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, we desired a beach without the rocks and reef so we could easily play in the waves. Kailua Beach was just that...shallow and sandy with the most beautiful clear blue water you could imagine. It is... more

Kailua beach has got to be the nicest beach on Oahu. While we were there we rented kayaks and went out to the little islands just off shore. If you are into a little physical activity I highly recommend trying it out. Look in the coupon books for kayak rental places. Make sure if you only do a 4 hour... more

We loved the Kailua beach. The beach is a short drive ( about 30 minutes) away from Waikiki, but that makes it less crowded. The sand is clean, the water a nice shade of turquoise, with schools of fishes visible very near the shore - you just have to wade in! There are kayak rentals for those interested. We saw... more
