We made a few wrong turns in going to the beach, but once we got there everyone in our group enjoyed the scenery, the turquoise water, and the powdery white sand of Kailua beach. My nieces and nephews had the best time swimming and frolicking at the beach, while the others just enjoyed snapping pictures of the breathtaking scenery. Kailua... More

This is the best beach on the windward side of Oahu. It has a long expanse of white sand and the water is a clear blue. Great vistas and a range of water sport equipment available for rent. Perfect for a walk, swim or picnic!

My wife and I have tested beaches all over the globe-this is definitely in the top ten. Nice and wide, clean, white sand, beautiful vistas, friendly people, pet friendly, crystal clear tropical h2o, etc, etc, etc!

We stayed in a rental near this park -- loved the beach (2 miles of white sand, the water really is THAT clear & blue). We enjoyed walking on the beach, swimming & watching sunrise over the ocean. It is not crowded in November.

It was a beautiful beach and a quite area. Kailua is one of my favorite parts of the island. People seem very laid back. Nothing like near Honolulu.

I love this beach. The sand is fine and white, the water is crystal clear. It is mostly visited by locals which makes it unspoilt and far less busy than beaches along Waikiki. I am blissfully happy when i walk, swim, watch kite surfers here. No better place in the world to be than Kailua beach!

There are lifeguards here. Lots of beautiful sand and sea. it's calmer here than in other areas on this windward side of Oahu. There are showers and bathrooms. A beautiful treed park to enjoy a picnic lunch in. Tough to find parking spaces on the weekends though unless you go early. You can rent kayaks near here. Good for families.

Happened upon this beach after a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. This is a beach that you only see in the movies. Absolutely stunning vistas, gentle waters and plush sand that goes on & on. Restrooms & showers but no food sales. Busy & parking is at a premium but worth it!

This is a beautiful beach with glorious soft sand. It is very windy usually on this side of the island and the area is busy with windsurfers and kite surfers. It is a great place to swim and watch the kite surfers. Enjoy!
