the hike is straight mud, the entire time. Throw away your shoes kinda mud. And the trail is not well marked, got lost several times and we are experienced hikers. The waterfall at the top is pretty, but you have to cross rivers to get to it, actually walk through the river to get to it at the top. If... More

The falls were pretty but the mud was everywhere. Pretty much ankle deep mud the whole way. Ended up laughing about it but our 5 year old initially was NOT excited about getting dirty. A bit of a job to clean up enough to get in the car for the trip home too.

We really enjoyed the walk in to the falls. It is muddy so be prepared. The falls aren't huge and the water hole was busy and murky but I was very glad we hiked in. We ventured off on another trail which we had some amazing views from this was actually the highlight of the hike.

We did this hike not really knowing what to expect. LUCKILY, we all wore good shoes and brought plenty of water. The waterfall is cool, but there are easier ones to get to. I enjoyed this hike immensely but to me the hike itself is just as exciting as the destination. There were several water crossings with slick rocks, and... More

A rather small and unimpressive water fall after a long muddy hike. We did several other hikes including some waterfalls that were much more photogenic. A lot of recent rain had made the trail one long mud path. Few signs along the way so unless you meet other hikers, it is easy to take a wrong turn. Near the start... More

This is a fast (40 minutes in) hike and not too strenuous. I recommend sneakers and not flips flops as I've see so many do. Barefoot is stupid here. This hike for me is about the beautiful scenery in Maunawili valley and the Pali mountain. The falls at the end are really nice, but not the most breathtaking you'll see.... More

This was a great hike. the sound of falling water and the birds while hiking was amazing. we went after it had rained so the trail was extremely slippery. I fell several times.

The hike can get dirty but the prize at the end is well worth it. Anyone can do it, when we went, we saw people of all ages walking. There are plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos with a great background. There are three different spots to jump off from. The highest point isn't as big as Lai'e... More

If there in the rainy season or after a big rain, expect mud – lots of mud. And mosquitoes. Recommend hiking shoes/boots. If you come to "Private Property" / "Do Not Enter" signs, you’ve missed the preceding right turn, which is marked, but obscured by other signs. Beautiful falls. (I believe the Manoa Falls trail – which we didn’t do... More

Plan to get muddy. Plan to get a little tired. But most importantly, plan to see a very remote little waterfall with swimming hole. The walk up is about 50 minutes, bring bug spray and sun screen. Don't bring too much to slow you down, just water, camera and board shorts. There aren't many signs but as long as you... More
