This one is muddy, muddy, muddy, but I like it. On a muddy day, it takes about 45 minutes to walk from the trailhead to the waterfall (maybe 25-30 on a dry day). Don't come here unless it is ok to get your shoes a little dirty. I have encountered a number of people on the trail who don't know... More

Went with a group of feiends- one was a local so directions were not an issue. It had been raining a lot and so it was so muddy and slippery! That being said....A lot of mosquitoes were out! The waterfall was beautiful and was a refreshing swim after the hike!

Directions: Take H-1 to the Pali Highway. Proceed over the Pali, through the tunnels and down the hill. Continue past Castle Junction, then at the 3rd traffic light turn right on A`uloa Road. . As the road forks, stay to your left side on Maunawili Road. At the end of Maunawili Road, turn right on Kelewina Street and find parking... More

Great finish to a long, exhausting hike. We went after heavy rain and the water was very rough and muddy. If you go after it rains, make sure you know what you're doing, the falls and creek can be dangerous. Highly recommend.

This place was awesome! Great hike into the falls...it seemed like it was just a couple of miles, but it was alot of up and down, and LOTS of mud which made it really fun! There are a couple of small creek crossings, some pretty good stair step climbs but just about when you're there, you crest this hill and... More

GREEN Plants EVERYWHERE! Beautiful, but slick as it rains here often. Think of hardened mud that has dew on it. The lush rainforest and cool temperatures was very refreshing.

This is a relatively Easy Hike with exception of being muddy and slippery. You are hiking on a wide trail with many tree roots and mud most of the way. You have to cross the stream a couple of times before you get to the main attraction, "the Maunawili Falls" The falls fall into a moderately deep pool with cold... More

It had rained the day before we hiked to the falls and the trail to the falls was very wet and muddy to the point it was slow going in a few places. I wouldn't recommend going after a rain storm. The hike was beautiful and the scenery breathtaking. The falls are cool and refreshing. Some were jumping from the... More

This hike is a must do for anyone visiting the island of Oahu. We make a point to do it every time we've been to the island! A lot of people have the impression that Hawaii is just a huge rainforest when in reality it has many different climate zones. I was very surprised on my first visit that there... More

Amazing hike through a rainforest, its moderately challenging but the reward of a beautiful waterfall and fresh pool to swim in at the end is more than worth it! Wear shoes that can get muddy and wet, its inevitable and take lots of water to drink you will need it!
