Waterfall Amazement

If your looking to do a hike on Oahu you have to do Maunawaili Falls. Just not when it's been raining then it's extremely dangerous and muddy.

We're not in shape at all and we were able to make it through the hike with our 12 and 14 year old girls. It was an exhausting 45 minute to an hour hike, but well worth it.

We went for a hike on New Years Day and it was so much fun. Different trails lead to the same water fall and it is beautiful and sometimes challenging. The scenery can't be beat!

As you enter you'll notice the canopy. It's so high. 50' I'm guessing. Our hike was very lucky due to the fact that it didn't rain in the rain forest this day. Bring zip lock bags for your cell phone. Water proof pouches for your cameras because if it rains itll pour. No flip flops please. You will end up... More

This trail is extremely muddy and slippery. U cannot prevent your feet from being soaked in mud (be prepared), your legs will get muddy, and I saw a fair number of people who had obviously fell. U might want a change of clothes or footwear in your car. I am not overstating the mud, by far the muddiest I have... More

We saw all the brown shoes hanging on the power line at the entrance, this should have been a clue. We didn't check the weather that day, first mistake. It was cloudy out so that should have been a hint that it would be muddy, but I have a feeling that this place is super muddy all the time. I... More

This hike is worth the view at the end; the waterfalls are breathtaking! Definitely do this if you love swimming or adventure at the end (you can jump from the rocks into the water). I definitely have some tips though to ensure you enjoy it: -Wear shoes you don't mind ruining! You will literally get COVERED in mud. At one... More

We enjoyed this hike. It was very muddy and would recommend wearing shoes easily cleaned. This waterfall was great because you can jump in a swim in it if you want. The trail was easy to follow since there were lots of hikers on it. This is for those who want more of an adventure to a waterfall.

This hike was somewhat challenging. I fell twice because of the slippery mud and I was wearing good hiking shoes. I saw people going in with flip flops and laughed at the thought. I did see some guys doing it in bare feet...... This was a very rewarding hike with a beautiful waterfall at the end. It was very crowded... More

A nice hike through a rainforest, this one doesn't have the hills from some other hikes around the island, but it is one of the few places that traps in tremendous humidity and a smattering of biting bugs. The falls themselves are quite nice and worth the trip though. To get here you have to park in a neighborhood which... More
