It was my first horseback riding experience and I was a bit uneasy at first, but the horses are well trained and the ride was very enjoyable.

Our party of 7 booked this riding excursion and we we're looking forward to a wonderful ride. We were placed upon horses by the stable staff. Apparently, as we learned later, some of the horses do not get along and the stable hands are well aware of this as they stated. Before the actual ride even started, three of the... More

Unfortunately riding horses at the Turtle Bay Resort was quite disappointing; and boring. For a rather expensive fee, you spend an hour or so slowly riding on a trail, one behind the other! You have no real control of your horse; rater it just follows the one in front of it. Some of the views are nice; however I would... More

My partner and I had never been to Hawaii, but we decided to get married there. Amazing experience, but one of the best parts of our trip was our 2 night stay at Turtle Bay resort. Day 2 found us at the activity center making a reservation for a horse back ride along the beach!! Turns out we were the... More

I have my own horse in CA and I ride 3-4 time/week. I was so surprised that the horses were GREAT (not barn sour and stubborn). If you are able to request a guide, you MUST ask for CARLOS! He was incredible, from his friendly demeanor to wanting to take so many pictures for us, and showing us all the... More

Our guide was very informative and stopped to take scenic photos of us at various points on our cameras and phones. the horses are really laid back and not jumpy at all. they stop to eat the bushes etc but that's all. it was a really beautiful ride, we... We did the pony rides with our 2 preschoolers. The staff were very friendly and attentive and made our wee ones feel at ease. Both children are now asking when we can go back to the ponys at Turtle Bay

My wife and I did the Turtle Bay sunset horseback ride on our honeymoon. It was the perfect end to our roadtrip; we drove from Honolulu up along the east side of the island up to Kahuku. Our guide was Carlos, I rode the gigantic Miji and my wife had Flash. Between the fun of making sure your horse is... More
