My family and I did the 5 hour trip to Chinaman's Hat when we were in Oahu last week. David and his wife put together a wonderful trip. The trip was private and customized. We paddled out to the island and then hiked to the top. After the hike we walked to the other side of the island and swam.... More

David, our guide was really flexible and worked around our schedule. We paddled out in the open ocean, and also up a river. We had a great time and learned a lot about Hawai along the way. Highly recommend this if you're visiting the north shore!

We thoroughly recommend Dave's 7 hour ocean kayak tour from Sunset to Hali'ewa. His knowledge of surfing, fishing, Hawaiian history and culture was amazing. With the trade winds and currents in your favour, Dave's guidance and frequent stops, the trip was much easier than we expected. Definitely put this on your list of things to do.

I had a wonderful experience out kayaking with David. His kayaking trips are with you and your group only - not a bunch of strangers. David and I went 2.5 miles out into the ocean - exhilarating! He knew so much about the water and how it moved that I felt 100% comfortable out there. He also shared a wealth... More

Dave is a pioneer in the field of kayak fishing and holds a world record for catching a tuna or barracuda? Sorry Dave, I couldn't remember. Anyways, don't forget us little Canadians once you get famous with either Discovery or Nat Geo for trail-blazing your new sport! Anyways, after doing an abundance of research, we decided to do a Kayak... More

We asked for a quiet, nature based kayaking experience, and that is just what we got. David was friendly, professional, and lots of fun! We surfed the waves in the bay, watched green sea turtles feed, and had a peaceful trip up the river. He was very good at assessing our kayaking skills and worked with us appropriately. We felt... Dave is a record-holding kayak fisherman so I was looking forward to booking a trip with him. My expectations were more than met. Not only did we get hooked up with a bunch of papio, I like the fact he teaches sustainable fishing- take only what you will eat. He has great knowledge about the islands and provides interesting and... More

Our guide, David, was a wealth of information and extremely helpful. He was very concerned with our well being and was attuned to every aspect of our tour. He guided us on the kayaks, the hike and rock climb and rock jumping into the ocean. It was an absolute blast! Highly recommend David and Coastal Kayak Tours!

We were visiting our friends in Oahu, and I really wanted to go kayaking. I had pre-booked this tour with David to Chinaman's Hat and had really high expectations. David lived up to my hopes. We had such a fantastic time! The kayaking was wonderful and the hike, though a bit tough for my 49 y/o out-of-shape body, was beautiful.... More

Coastal Kayak Tours was the right fit for us. They were quick to communicate with us availability via email and were flexible with our schedule – we set the time and they met us there. We met on Haleiwa Beach and Dave, our instructor, already had the kayaks ready to go for us. Even though we were a mite late,... More
