My very first thought when I knew there was a shark adventure was hell no! But as I researched on TripAdvisor and the websites of the 2 shark excusions, I knew that Hawaii Shark Encounters would be a safe way to have this once in a lifetime experience. Their website is very informational, and the story about the great white... more

First off I have to say that all the people I dealt with from the receptionist to the two guides on the boat were all great. The boat ride out was bumpy. After about 15 minutes we got to the tank and we all got in. The sharks get really close to the cage which is cool, but the rough... more

This was one of the best things we did on vacation. There were 4 of us (2 adults, a 12yr old and a 15yr old), and all had a great time. We did the 6:30am tour, which may seem early (and it is!) but it is worth it- smooth ride and beautiful to see the scenery as the sun comes... more

The ride was choppy as expected ( knew this due to reading other reviews ) but it was fun! Just hold on tight and enjoy the ride! We had about 10 sharks circling us the entire time and few even came right up to the glass. Wonderful experince and totally glad we took the tour, well worth the money. The... more

You wont believe how close these sharks get to you. It was an awsome experience. We had 4 Gallapago sharks in the water with us the whole time. Kinda scary at first but the sharks dont even try to harm you. more

My husband and I took this tour early Sept. 09 and the crew made sure everyone was attended to. I was eager, but my husband was more cautious. The crew kept checking to make sure he was ok. These was an experience of a lifetime, the sharks would swim up to you an just look at you with the same... more

I was terrified to do this but thought it would be cool to try diving with sharks due to our love of Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. The trip was well run and the cage felt extremely safe. The sharks arrived on cue without any chumming or behavior by the crew to draw them in. This made them incredibly... more

Booked the 6:30 a.m. trip at Hawaii Shark Encounter (HSE) for family of 4 because seas are calmest at this early time. Seas were still rough. My son and I went in the cage first with 4 others. Immediately, sharks circled the cage, including some very large (about 12 feet) sharks. Spent 25 minutes in the cage and sharks circled... more

I didn't think it was that rough on the water, but I don't get motion sickness either. My trip had 2 groups that got 25 minutes in the shark cage. I was also glad the water was not cold away from shore. In the cage, it was a little rocky but I was able to see well and it was... more

I had to go to the hospital after my Hawaii Shark Encounter but you will have to read more of this review to discover what happen... My daughter (age 23), hubby & I (mid-'50s) visited Oahu for 9 days from June 3-13,2009 so we just recently returned home. On July 9, 2009 we had scheduled our 10:30 Shark Encounter and... more
