My son's main have to while in Hawaii was to Surf. The buttons instructor was amazingly patient and had my son up riding a wave first try. I was even able to enjoy a ride myself and I didn't think there was any way I would get close. It was definitely one of the most enjoyable adventures we had during... More

I bought surfing lessons from Buttons Surf School for my 14 year old son while we were in Haleiwa Hawaii. His surfing instructor was extremely kind and did everything possible to get my son into a wave and surfing. After a couple lessons my son was actually walking up and down the board as he surfed! The friendliest place around... More

So grateful for the fabulous time this crew showed us. In addition to the wonderful instruction and great time, I appreciated the concern for the safety of everyone under their instruction. We also got to see turtles (at no additional cost :-)).

We had a great experience here! Very knowledgeable and friendly instruction, with a laid back atmosphere. Authentic and fun- not touristy at all, which was nice! We went on an overcast/rainy day which was actually ideal because it allowed for pristine, uncrowded surfing. We also went for the 10 am time slot which worked out well, because the water got... Had a great time surfing. Jason, our instructor, is really patient and cool catching every waves. At first, we had to meet up at the Halei'wa Beach Park then drive down the road trying to find good waves. Then we had to head back to the Halei'wa Beach Park because the waves on the other side are much bigger. Recommend... More

Went on an anniversary trip to Oahu in late September with my girlfriend. We decided that we would give surfing a shot. However, we wanted to avoid Waikiki where we were staying, and boy were we glad that we did. Looked up Button's Surf School on Yelp and they were able to offer us a great two for one deal.... More

My wife and I went out to surf for the first time ever, and with the instruction, location, and time we had in the water, we felt comfortable on the board. My wife was able to stand on her first try ever. Great instructor, extremely friendly, and we wish we had more time in our stay so that we could... More

They made it easier than I thought it would be. Loads of fun! Great for a beginner! They had a tent set up on the beach and as soon as we got there we were given rash guards and then off the boards for a land lesson. We got to practice a few times with positions as the instructor gave... More
