We loved our lesson. The school was on time, the equipment was appropriate for the conditions, the coaches were great and my kids loved it too, we saw turtles floating around us, the water was warm and everyone was all smiles. When it is big every where else, Puena Point, where the surf school is is small enough.

We booked these folks for a surf lesson using their website well in advance. We were sent an email to meet them at Jameson's restaurant at a certain time. We got there a little early and sat in the parking lot and waited. And waited. And waited. We called the phone number we had and left a message. And we... More

Buttons is the simply the best. I am nearly 50 years old & have taken four lessons total over back to back summers & hope to see him again one day. Whether you`re riding the wave or just hanging out waiting for the next one to come, the experience is awsome & one i will never forget. Hang loose Buttons,... More

I couldn't be happier with the private lesson I took today with Buttons Surf School. I requested to have Buttons as my teacher and when I heard he wasn't available, I was apprehensive about paying for a private lesson with another teacher. I'm happy I did, because the vibe was really laid back and I was able to catch majority... More

After having a terrible experience with another surf school, I researched on TripAdvisor and found Buttons. AMAZING, OUTSTANDING, PATIENT COACHING and INSTRUCTION! He is a champion surfer, Hawaiian, family man, military friendly that knows how to give you an amazing surf experience to learning to be a repeat surfer. He is a kind person too - volunteers to teach surfing... More

If you visit Oahu and miss surf lessons with Buttons you have really missed out! All three of my girls caught 20 waves each during the lesson! This is by the far the best time we have ever had in Hawaii! Buttons and his team are great people who truly want you to have a great time. Buttons uses a... More

Obviously there are already a lot of 5 star reviews for Buttons Surf School, and that's because they deserve nothing less! My four year old daughter has wanted to try surfing ever since she watched the movie Lilo and Stitch, I thought she might be too young but it turns out surfing has no age requirement! We had a lesson... More

I had a fantastic time! Buttons is a great teacher and just a really good guy with a good heart (he does a lot of volunteer work, helping disabled children and children with cystic fibrosis learn to surf). Everybody knows him, and every time I was paddling back to him after I rode a wave (yes, he had me riding... More

I have to admit I know nothng about surfing or surfers. we werent going to bother but as we're moving to Sydney in a few months thougt it would be a good idea to give the kids a taster. I didnt realise when we booked this who buttons was or what his contribution had been to surfing - but the... More
