You must try the shaved ice at this place. Allegedly, it is the only place on the island where the syrup for the shaved ice is made on the island from products of the island. And I believe it to be true after trying it. I got mine hawaiian style where they put a scoop of ice cream in the... More

We visited this store during the weekend of the local art festival---parking was extremely limited but we lucked out and found paved parking in this lot. This store is located next to a pretty outdoor mall. We found many souvenirs made in Hawaii to bring home here.

Marvel at the line at Matsumoto's and keep going until you get to the Aloha general store. It's apparently a slow process to make shave ice but it's worth the wait. I'm not a shave ice expert but it was really good and refreshing with ice cream on the bottom and condensed milk on top.

I think it's better than Matsumoto's. They think so too since they've got a sign showing why their shave ice is the best. Is it? Dunno but it's good. And short lines. And buy two, pay for 1 1/2 with the coupon in the Oahu brochure. I'd try them again.

Great Shaved Ice, including ice cream and topping. Many other interesting products in the store, like coconut peanut butter. Great stop after visiting shrimp trucks on the way into Haliewa

Everyone kept telling me that you have to go to Matsumoto for Shave Ice. I did and it was good, but not worth the hour I spent on line. Then I met some locals and they said try the shave ice at the Aloha General Store. You have to order it with ice cream in the bottom, my daughter had... More

We have had shaved ice at three locations and these were the best. You must ask for it the local way, ice cream in the bottom and condensed milk on top. We tried mango, passion fruit, banana and coconut flavors. Three flavors at a time. They were all good. This shaved ice was recommended to us by a Honolulu guide... More
