We easily found the place, but it helped to come from the right direction, and to have gotten directions from locals. It was very pleasant to visit this low-key, low-tech family operation that harvests mac nuts on trees planted in the 1920's. The owner's sister showed us the operation. It was fun to take a rock and hammer and crack... More

We came from the wrong direction, and so had a bit of trouble finding the place, but it was worth some extra cruising to find them! Nothing slick here, just a family that raises mac nuts on trees planted in the 1920's. Very low tech, but you can tell they love it. The owner's sister showed us the operation. Love... More

We stopped at Purdy's and were given the tour by the owner. It is very enlightening and educational for those that have never been to a macadamia farm. You also can open the raw macadamias, taste them raw and roasted and the honey from the farm as well. More

The owner was very nice and explained the harvesting process. You get to crack and eat your own fresh macadamia nuts which was great. More

All visitors to Maui with the time should take this day trip over on the Maui Princess Ferry from the Lahaina Harbour. It's a bit early to get up in the morning but grab a cup of Maui Grown coffee or some 100% Kona brew and you'll be ready to go. The nut farm is just that a farm of... More

A friendly, low-key, non-commercial Mac nut farm. Family run and small. Visitors see mac nuts growing on trees, in various stages of development. The short time we were there, only one other couple dropped by, so we had an almost personalized tour. After learning how to crack the nuts, we practiced on a few. We tasted raw and cooked nuts,... My family and I were there in September. The tour I thought was just OK but I did buy some Macadamian cooking oil and some Lei's made with the Macamian's, in their natural form. I was glad to go for those purchases. More

This was a fun, low-key place. Unlike the big mac nut farms on the big island, you can actually visit this one and walk through the trees. It is a small operation, but that is why it is great. The owners tell you all about how the nuts are grown and what they do to get them ready for sale.... More
