We missed Mr. Purdy, but had the pleasure of meeting his sister who was running the farm that day. We learned the history of the farm, how they grow and harvest the nuts, and did all of this while standing outside among the macadamia trees. We were shown how to crack open the nuts and sampled them right there. We... More

My adult daughter and I arrived promptly at 9:30am with the intention of purchasing macadamia nuts and moving on. That was my second mistake. The first was walking right past mr. Purdy as he was placing his nut sign out on the road. Knowing what I know now, we should of stopped introduced ourselves and requested permission to come aboard.... More

Loved our visit with Mr. Purdy. It was very interesting and educational. We learned about all the stages of a Macadamia Nut and got to crack our own nut and lots of tastings too! The Macadamia Nut Honey Mustard was fantastic! Bring money! Would recommend this to everyone!

We had a great time learning about growing and harvesting macadamia nuts that included the opportunity to crack our own and eat the raw nut as well as dry roasted ones. We spent about an hour on the farm, but it was great! We learned a lot from Mr. Purdy and got some great tips/advice places to visit and events... More

Mr. Purdy's insights as to how the industry grows, processes and sales nuts is interesting in an outdoor classroom kind of way.The "tour" is done standing in one spot, and learning how a 90-year-old tree does its thing without interference, irrigation, pesticides, oils for processing and preservation, etc. Crack a nut, buy some nuts and go enjoy them on another... This was a super fun experience. The macadamia nut trees are beautiful and you really learn a lot. The hands on samples and short but informative tour was a great way to spend an hour. The owners are very nice and answered all of our questions and chatted happily with us. Bring cash and buy plenty for gifts as everyone... More

Mr Purdy is worth the stop just to meet him. Is fantastic to learn how macadamia nuts are grown and harvested and processed for sale fascinating. The samples are nothing to sneeze at either. This is a must see for any visitor to the island.

The small grove is full of information! We enjoyed the background of the macadamia nut tree, the opportunity to crack a few fresh nuts and discovered the other-worldly, delicious macadamia nut honey. Totally off the grid, it is a welcomed oasis of old-fashioned farming.

As we are from Australia and already familiar with Macadamia nuts, the tour was not so interesting for us. Also the nuts they sell are quite expensive. If you have never seen how Macadamia nuts grow, it is worth a visit, but if you already know, not so essential to visit.
