My husband is a commercial pilot and has always wanted to fly around the Hawaiian Islands- this experience surpassed our expectations in every way. We decided to have an instructor come along with us instead of spending the time getting checked out- best decision we made! It was like having our own personal tour guide. And if I wanted to... Private pilot visiting Maui for the first time. Flew their 172 w/ CFI Eric (dual received). Sons, ages 11 and 13 in the back seat. Eric worked the radios and narrated an incredible 1.8 hour tour of Maui and two adjacent islands while I enjoyed flying some of the most awesome landscapes I've seen. An unbelievable, incredible adventure. Much more... More

I have a Canadian PPL and wanted to do some flying in the Hawaiian Islands. John at Maui Aviators did a good job of describing the options available. I chose to go with an instructor simply to avoid the work of understanding the airspace & radio reporting requirements. When we arrived at the field, the equipment was pre-flighted and ready... More

My son and I rented a 172 from these guys, along with a pilot ride-along. The pilot was very pleasant. He is probably an ok pilot. But his primary interest was in simply taking us on his prearranged route. He wanted to fly at 1500 feet along the Molokai coast; I wanted to fly at 500 on the grounds that... More

My wife and I had a VERY positive experience with Maui Aviators, so I want to spread the good word about them. Maui Aviators offers a unique service for visitors to Maui who are pilots (or student-pilots, or ex-pilots, or whatever). It’s called a “Familiarization Flight,” to get checked-out in their Cessna 172. You can rent the aircraft by the... More

Scheduled a flight around Maui County with Colin (CFI) and my 2 daughters. I have my PPL but wanted an instructor along to simplify things as I've never flown in Hawaii airspace before. Colin was ready when we arrived. Did a quick pre-flight and we off. Even though Colin has only been in Maui for 6 mths he was very... More

I have flown several times with Maui Aviators as a frequent visitor to Maui. The flight instructors I have flown with have always been extremely courteous and helpful. You certainly can't complain about the scenery either. The last time I flew with Maui Aviators -- I was disappointed in the condition of their aircraft. Admittedly, these aircraft fly frequently --... More

I visited Kahului, Maui with my girlfriend for 12 days. She wanted to do the beach thing for a couple of days to rest up from the 2-day travel to Maui; but I had other ideas for my own time. As a pilot of my own small airplane, I decided to head for the General Aviation side of the airport... More

When I found Maui Aviators and learned I could fly a Cessna 172 (with a Certified Flight Instructor, Tony) to Molokai I was ecstatic. Although I had some previous training it was a decade ago--but it doesn't matter. A complete newcomer can do this, too. Tony was quite helpful, running the radio and other things I didn't know (or had... More
