Besides snorkeling, riding down Haleakala was THE thing the 18-25 set wanted to do on Maui. They chose Sunriders with the 9 AM departure--the sunrise trip being off the agenda. With this, they got a quick trip to the summit (why drive that far and not go to the top?) and then ride down from the 6500 foot level (just... More

Only bummer about the excursion was the cloudy weather. Couldn't see the amazing "light show" everyone talks about. On the ride up, our tour guide, Remy, gave us a lot of information and facts about the island we didn't know before. The top is great for star gazing prior to the sunrise. The bike down takes you through everything from... More

This was a great experience for my wife and I. This is the first activity we did following a 12 hour trip from the east coast. Since we were still on e.s.t it was not horrible getting up to do this. Joe made the experience even better. Very informative and upbeat. I was very impressed with his knowledge and demeanor.... More

I would not hesitate to do the ride from the crater again. It was brilliant and a lot of fun. I think you could probably do better than Maui Sun riders though as we found the staff member who dealt with us to be away with the fairies. He did give is a good chat on the way up but... More

What a great experience, it may be hard to get up at 3am to make the trek up the mountain, but what an experience. The sunrise is fantastic and the ride down is so fun, you don't have to pedal at all! Make sure you take lots of warm clothes as its freezing at the top!

My husband was given the sunrise tour as a gift for his birthday. What an amazing present! Our tour guide Jake was friendly and kind and attentive.....which at 315 am is much appreciated. The self guided tour is great if you want to take your time cruising down Haleakala for 27 miles - travelling through various "climates" and different landscapes -... More

Yes having to report to the shop at 3:15 AM while on vacation sounds insane but the Sunrise bike tour was my most favorite part of my trip. I couldn't convince my friend to go with me so I was on my own. The staff (Jake from Minnesota) and the other driver were so friendly and nice for 3 in... More

My husband and I did the sunrise tour this morning with Jake. Jake was awesome! Very informative and entertaining and seemed to really care about what sort of experience we had. Request Jake! The sunrise was fabulous. If you have the opportunity to do that tour... that sunrise puts every other Maui sunrise to shame! I am NOT a coordinated... More

We biked down Haleakala using bikes from Maui Sunriders. The staff were very friendly and our guide up the mountain had loads of information for us. I really like how they allowed us to go at our own pace. They dropped us off near the top, unloaded our gear, and left. I loved it because we didn't have to follow... More

My husband and I took a couples trip and this was one of our activities. We had a great time. I was nervous at the beginning, but by then end of the ride I had a great time. Our guide that took us on the tour of Haleakala was Remy. He was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the crater and... More
