Description: Snorkeling trips to Lanai and Whale watching in season Constantly in...
Snorkeling trips to Lanai and Whale watching in season Constantly in search of the "Perfect Day" of snorkeling or whale watching, Captain Steve and his crew will stop at nothing to ensure unparalleled service and quality. Waste no time in discovering the secrets of the reef and playing with dolphins, humpback whales, turtles and rays. There is no telling what we might encounter on any given day. No two trips are alike, and that's probably what keeps the captains and crew so friendly and accommodating. They are as excited about going to work as the guests are about going on a Maui rafting adventure! History Established in 1986. Captain Steve's Rafting is a true example of the words "owner operated." Since he started his business in 1986, Steve has been insisting on personal service and satisfaction for every guest. As he explains, "I want to make sure everyone who comes with us absolutely loves the experience." It's hard to find someone more sincerely dedicated to making visitors happy. That's why so many customers keep coming back to Captain Steve's year after year. A note with regard to the captains and crew: It is widely known that Captain Steve has been the only operator of the family business for the past three decades, but with the advent of his second boat, he obviously cannot be two places at once. He is therefore committed to selecting only people who truly care about the craft of tourism and wish to make a positive impact on the experience of the guests. Thus "going the extra mile" is always sought after when considering a representative of his company.

We took a trip with Captain Steve and the end of our trip in March to do one last whale watch before leaving Maui. They were super informative and we learned a lot about whales that morning. We got to watch several males vie for a female's affection and it was quite the competition. The whales also went under our... More

We have been going on Captain Steve's for over 20 years. We have tried other boating excursions on all the islands and by far Captain Steve's is the best. We have a different experience every time we go, which is a lot since we are there 3 times a year and go many times during each visit. It is always... More

The excursion was advertised as a dolphin safari, so I was disappointed that we didn't see a single dolphin. We did get to see turtles and more importantly a few whales. That was incredible. You can't get closer than 100 yards and they're only here in the winter to give birth, they head back up to Alaska in April/May. The... More

Thus review is a bit long, but I encourage you to read it! I have been on many of the whale watch excursions in Lahaina. Capt Steve is amazing! The naturalist (as well as Capt.) were wonderful, personable & full of accurate information! The raft was very comfortable & clean! The rafts are what you want to go with. Much... More

We are repeat Captain Steve customers/fans. This whale season alone I spent close to 30 hours whale watching with them. My last was on April 2 and it was fabulous as always. Even though the whales had slowed down some being the end of the season, Captain Steve still found the whales and one group was a great competition pod.... More

Our first trip was cancelled due to weather which was understandable. We showed up early the next day to ensure we were on time as we had moved to another part of the island. It turns out we were very early but better early than late. Upon our arrival, there were two rafts going out from Captain Steve's Rafting. We... More

Add my wife and I to the long list of repeat customers for Captain Steve!!! Have used them several times after tiring of slow moving catamarans. His twin 250HP outboards are whisper quiet and he can quickly get to where ever the action is, plus he knows these waters! Debbie is a great information source on humpback whale knowledge and... For years we've always done whale watches with Captain Steve's Rafting. This year was very disappointing and we may never go with them again. Our guide was unenthusiastic. Captain Steve was actually our captain. Both seemed like they just wanted to get it over with and go home for the day. Okay - it was the 2:30pm excursion but we... More

First, a story about excellent customer service: got a call the night before we were supposed to head out on a combined snorkeling/whale watching excursion, saying not enough people had signed up. We were unable to rebook due to travel commitments, so we said our good byes. Five minutes later got a call back asking if we were interested in... More

First time whale watching. The weather was not on our side for two days, but on the third try. The weather cooperated and we were on our way. Saw a lot of moms with babies, and even got sprayed on. what a site to see. everyone should do this at least once in your life. A tip, schedule the whale... More
