Snorkeled 2 area on lanai until water was too rough then went to maui. saw rays, sea turtle, all kinds of urchins, cuddle fish, trumpet fish, and coral. Lots of patience from Cap. The half day trip to Lanai was very worth the money spent and the time. We left Mala Warf such a beautiful boat ride. Along the way we encountered a large group of dolphins. They were amazing and Captain Steve and his crewmate, Dennis we full of great information about the dolphins, the islands and the other fish we encountered... more

Just finished my 30th+ trip with Steve, my boyfriend Bill's first snorkeling trip ro HI this past June 24 2009... Bill got the best underwater pictures of a Green Turtle "that was mugging him" at less than 2 feet, - see!! - My previous trip was in Feb 23 2008 where among spotted dolphin, numerous whale breaching and even saluted... more

This is a very economical whale watch, and so very nice that it is on a little raft. This is so much better than the "cattle boats". Captain Steve can easily maneuver around and get you to see the whales. When it is whale season in the islands, Maui has definitely got the most abundance! I go to the islands... more

my husband and I went on Captains Steves whale watching back in Feburary so this review is a little late, but I wanted to make sure to let people know how wonderful it was. The tour was small and personal and capt steve and his very helpful and nice assistant were great. I think because the boat was small, we... more

This was our first trip to Maui and we went specifically to see the whales. I booked a trip with Captain Steve's based upon the excellent reviews read here and my wife said it was the best decision I had made in a long time. We enjoyed the two hour experience so much that we booked another tour for the... more

Our family of 5 went out with Captain Steve around Feb. 12th, 09 and dont waste your money on his 2 hour whale trips. Captain Steve was our captain, with a blonde girl helping, and she did try to relate to a couple of kids on board, but it was the worst whale trip we ever went on in the... more

We had a great time doing the whale watching and snorkeling with Captain Steves. Steve was actually our captain for the day. The boat/raft was very comfortable and I would guess we had 25 people on board (probably close to maximum capacity). I cant even begin to tell you how many whales we saw during our 6 hour trip. They... more

Our family group of 8 went on the half day whale watch and snorkel adventure. Our captain was Dennis and his 1st mate was Dan. We had a couple from Michigan with us on the boat because another group of people did not make it to Hawaii and didn't cancel. What a fantastic day. It was the highlight of our... more

We've taken over 15 whale watching trips with Captain Steve's over the past few years and highly recommend it. Previously, we went out with Pacific Whale Foundation, but didn't enjoy the large boats and large crowds. Captain Steve's is a much more enjoyable time. You are closer to the water which means closer to the whales. The boat is fast,... more
