Great Beach

The only rocks are on the ends of the beach. Good snorkeling near the rocks. Great swimming beach in the middle. Pretty calm. High tide good for boogie boarding.

Walk right up to the resident sea turtles and watch them feed on the rocks. Awesome experience every time. Easy snorkeling at the other end of the beach.

Looks like a great beach for families, and the snorkeling was fantastic. The Sea House restaurant was terrific -- food great, and reasonable prices.

The water is worm and clear, the sand is clean, the snorkelling is excellent and the waves are gentle.

OMG if you love snorkeling, this is THE BEST beach ever. You don't even have to go far and you can find Humuhumunukunukuapua'a fish and all kinds of fish just steps into the ocean. The water is clear and clean. The beach is clean. There's easy parking. And down towards the southern tip of the beach are volcanic rock formations... More

The beach is beautiful and the sand wonderful but there are a couple of things that need improvement. Of course the parking is the biggest issue but don't know what can be done about that. However, my other big complaint is a lack of benches to sit on. I know most people are going there to swim or snorkel but... More

Beautiful setting and gorgeous water - picture postcard perfect. Mesmerizing surf to watch. Shade is available as are showers. Snorkeling was not great when I went, somewhat cloudy and not a lot of fish, although others have reported good snorkeling. Beach is long enough to not seem crowded. Try the Gazebo restaurant--superb for breakfast and open 7:30 to 2:00. Try... More

Each year we drive up the road to park on the lower road and walk in to this public beach. Not a big entrance or parking lot We bring our own chairs, a mini-umbrella and small ice chest. The beach is clean and long enough so not overly crowded. Snorkling is highly recommended if the seas and rains have been... More

If you're staying on the West side of Maui, this is a very nice beach to visit. Excellent place for swimming & snorkeling because of the sandy bottom near shore... NO rocks, This beach is just South of Kapalua Bay, but is longer and bigger than Kapalua. It tends to be a little busier/crowded than Kapalua. It is semi-protected for... More
