Ok, first off, choosing and booking the luau was probably the most confusing part of planning our trip to Maui. I even turned to the tripadvisor forums for help at one point! It seems that the only luaus that got consistently great reviews were the $100+ ones. We were a group of four and didn't want to spend that much.... more

To start it was weathered out and done inside, but went to the drums of the pacific last time in Maui and truly enjoyed it, and great food.. To compare this one to the drums of the pacific. It's like comparing a high school play to a broadway show more

Food is okay and limited variety. The included Alcoholic mixed drinks are watered down unless you purchase it for extra in the bar. Entertainment is average but they do have a fire dance for those who like to watch that. The site is by the beach so there was a lovely sunset to watch. I don't really recommend this luau... more

I hesitantly attended this luau after reading all the negative reviews, because of our budget. We booked last minute tickets in the front seating area through Local Expert in Lahaina. We got to the Luau and were not pressured, or even asked, to do the VIP upgrade, so we decided not to. Yes, there was a line, but it was... more

We booked VIP tickets for a group of 19 of our friends and family the evening before our wedding that took place at the Royal Lahaina Hotel. We were ascorted by the Luau manager straight to our table and didnt have to wait in line. The line was huge and was there every night of our stay at the hotel.... more

This is a great luau if you have kids or need to stay on a budget. The food is pretty good and the entertainment is nice. They do have a special kids buffet if you are travelling with a picky eater. The downside is that you are enjoying the luau with 600 other people. It is a little crowded and... more

Do not attend this luau. This had to be the worst dinning/show experience that we have ever had. I am only giving this rating of one because it won't allow me not to give a rating. It was worse than terrible. Pro's: 1. My son loved the shell leis that they gave out, but then again he is only 3... more

We went to this luau as a family of seven - four adults, one eight year old and twin three year olds. We all had no pre-luau experience so we chose this one. We were in Maui the first week of July. We purchased the tickets in advance at one of the Expedia locations. We chose this luau because the... more

boss frogs has $50 tickets and i paid $70 at the luau hotel and was told by the lady we were getting a really good discount. They group you by the price you pay so you dont find out you got ripped off. My girlfriend overheard someone say they only paid $40 but im not sure where. Worth $40-50 BUT... more

My wife wanted to go to a luau on our trip to Maui, if for no other reason, than to observe the expected "kitschiness" at such an event. Having been to a luau 20 years ago, I was not quite as enthusiastic, but went along with the idea. We chose the Royal Lahaina because it seemed the most affordable ($65)... more
