Saw this place on a video playing in my hotel room, one of those tourist video things, and had to come check it out. It is exactly as the other reviews say. It's peaceful, and quiet and there's a ginormous Buddha and 2 beautiful pagodas as well as a large ornate bell. Parking is free out on the street and... More

This is the location of the largest Buddha outside of Japan. The grounds are nicely kept and quiet. No tours, shops, food. Just a nice place to appreciate culture and reflect.

Giant Buddha Other interesting buildings. Right near the ocean. Great to see. Surprised to find such a huge shrine here.

This is a wonderful Jodo Mission located ocean front in Lahaina. It has the largest buddha in the USA. A very relaxing place to visit on your way to the beach!

This property is well maintained and is small but the statue is awesome. There are a few places to make an offering but otherwise it is open and free if you want. Nice temples to photograph and also the inside of the temple as well. You can not go inside but you can see and photograph the inside from the... More

Definitely worth a stop to see the Buddha and Pagoda. It's a rather hidden off the street location but easy to find. Peaceful and transports you back in time.

Always visit Jodo Mission. I love being in the presence of the Buddha. A bit off the beaten path in Lahaina (look for the "mala ramp" sign off of the northern end of Front Street). Billed as the largest Buddha outside of Japan, it's worth viewing for the few minutes of peace you will get from time spent there.

The pagoda and buddha are definitely worth seeing at the Jodo Mission. There is free parking right on street and it wasn't crowded at all when I visited, I had the place to myself on a weekday morning. When you park, you will also see the Puupiha Cemetery sand graveyard right in front of you. It was interesting for sure,... More
