We took the Expedition ferry from Lahaina to Lanai for our daughters's wedding. You have to reserve and purchase the ferry tickets ahead of time and can pick the tickets up 30 minutes before sailing. The crossing to Lanai was about 45 minutes. The ferry was small. It quite comfortable. The crossing was made on time and with comfort. I... More

My family took the Expeditions ferry to Lana'i just to get out on the water. We literally went over, walked around for 10 minutes, and came right back to Maui. (If you don't make previous arrangements there's not a lot to do at Manele Harbor.) On the ride over we sat out on the top deck. It was great being... More

If you don't like your job quit. Rudest most unfriendly group of people I've ever met. You're on Maui for crying out loud. Go back to the mainland !!!

You can catch this ferry in the heart of Lahaina and it's a short hour ride over to Lana'i. The morning ferries get crowded, and I recommend going upstairs in the air-conditioned section that is a little more private. However, the ferry ride back to Lahaina at night is really BUMPY! If you stay all day on Lana'i I would... More

the ferry was well run. It ran on time and efficiently. Staff was competent. It appeared online like you had to buy your tickets in advance, but when I got there I could have purchased them at the time of departure, although I suppose if you waited there might not be room. When I returned from Lanai, I caught an... More

While on Maui, we decided to go over to Lani for a day trip and was so glad to do so. Lanai offers that rugged Hawaii feeling you only get when you go to a smaller island with less tourists. The ferry makes several trips to and from the island and I would recommend catching the first ferry of the... More

You can't beat the price to travel between islands. The way over was nice and smooth in the morning. The ride back was pretty rough in the afternoon, but it's only about 45 minutes to 1 hour. When you get to Lanai, you can take a shuttle for $10 a person that stops at the two Four Seasons resorts, Lanai... More

We went over to Lana'i with the intention of spending some time at the beach and then taking a shuttle to Lana'i City. The beach that is located a few minutes away from the ferry is so nice that you will not want to leave. We didn't! It was nicer than any beach on Maui. I believe it is called... More

We were going to Lanai for several days (our third trip there). As an aside we don't stay at one of the Four Seasons Resorts. Instead we stay at The Hotel Lanai (the best!). We were very happy to use this form of inter-island transportation. The crew was great, the boat very nice, and the overall trip terrific. We certainly... More
