Fun trip!

For other places I have been where ferries are traveling the same amount of time I paid $12. I think this ferry is way overpriced. Nonetheless I love ferry rides and got great vids. Didn't see any whales though and the ride back was very scary. They made everyone sit inside as the waves were crashing over the ferry. I... More

This is a no frills transportation service, a seagoing "Greyhound Bus" that gets you from Lahaina to Lanai and back. The return trip was a thrill ride with plenty of rock and roll that must be what it feels like to be inside a washing machine. Crashing waves and white-capped seas were daunting and the normal 45 minute passage took... More

Unless you need to go to Lanai, do not spend the $60 per head for a round trip ticket. If you want to snorkel in the bay at Lanai, book a boat that does just that. The ferry operator needs some lessons in logistics and customer service. If you prepay your ticket, you must still stand in long lines with... More

This ferry service runs from Lahaina harbor to docks right next to Manele Bay on Lanai several times throughout the day. The ferry boats are modern and well maintained, and are very prompt. The fare is $30 each way per person. You call them and make a reservation (no money paid up front). Then buy your ticket at the booth... More

Pop and water sold in the galley . The beach is about a 15 minute walk but I caution people with mobility issues to think twice about... More

We had our own snorkel gear so we took this ferry to Lanai. The lady at the kiosk in the harbor was extremely rude, but on ferry staff were nice. The upstairs of the ferry is nice, but the lower deck feels like you're on a military vessel. It is very stuffy. We spent a couple of hours on Lanai,... More

I rented a 2 door soft top jeep from dollar today. The jeep was a piece of junk! $140 for the day. The jeep had 70k miles on it. I was surprised it didn't break down. I couldn't open the door on the passenger side and the glove box practically fell on the floor when I opened it. Only two... More

My wife and I took the ferry early one morning from Lahaina (Maui) to the island of Lanai. It was a very nice trip and not expensive. Book ahead to get your ticket and then get down to the docks to cue. The boat is nice and large with plenty of seating inside and on top. Even though the water... More

A pleasant ride with views of whales and room inside if you it is too windy or getting too much sun for a reasonable price. If you are going to stay near the harbor to snorkel and things you are fine. If you want to get transported to the city it will cost you a lot. This may hurt the... More

Recent changes to Lanai island transportation have made getting around Lanai very expensive. I took my daughter and sister there yesterday, February 17, 2015 and was shocked by the cost of getting around. Last year, September, I paid 10.00 for a shuttle ride which took me all around the island and back to the harbor. The Four Seasons busses also... More
