We stayed on Lanai for eight nights and loved every minute of the experience. We took the ferry to Lahaina one day to do some tourist shopping. Ferry leaves on time and is a comfortable way to travel. (It's also the only way to get there). Most of the passengers on the first A.M. trip over were Lanai locals making... More

If you have a spare day, take the ferry to Lanai and see the sites. The Challenge at Manele Bay is a "must-play" for golfers; it is perhaps the most beautiful golf course in the world. The two resorts, very different in styles and character, are worth a visit.

We had a fantastic day in Lanai. Thought the staff on the ferry was terrific. The crossing is fun and we enjoyed the scenery and the spinner dolphins off in the distance. Once we arrived, we were directed to the shuttle and then driven to Dollar to pick up the Jeep. Our assigned Jeep was old and plenty dirty and... More

A round trip ticket from Lahaina to Lanai is $60. thee is a shuttle on Lanai that will take you to Lanai City (r/t - $10) Boat ride is approx. 45 minutes each way....the ride over was smooth. However, coming back, the tide was coming is and the waves were heading towards Lanai which made the trip back quite bumpy.... More

Very smooth ride and friendly staff! We booked ahead online as advised. The boat does fill up with construction workers travelling back and forth daily so I'd be sure to book in advance. Keep an eye out for the spinner dolphins...they put on quite a show for us!

To get to Lanai, take the Expeditions ferry from Lahaina's harbour. The ferry leaves Lahaina at 6:45, 9:15, 12:45, 3:15, and 5:45. Leaves Lanai at 8:00, 10:30, 2:00, 4:30, and 6:45. In September, we didn't make reservations, and the 9:15 was sold out. We were lucky and got on via stand by. So DO make reservations! We had intended to... More

we took the ferry in the afternon back to maui after having flown into lanai the previous day. was a fairly good means of transportation, the ride was quite bumpy though and the back deck gets extremely hot (we had to move inside about halfway through) staff are very helpful. we changed our tickets last minute (1 hour before the... Having spent the first few days of our honeymoon on Lanai we hopped on the ferry to Maui - great way to island hop!! Ferry was comfortable and provided a great view of Lanai on the way over. The trip was relatively short, but very easy. Unfortunately for my husband however he was responsible for our luggage - something to... More

Just to see another Hawaiian Island is reason enough to take the ferry to and from Lanai. Not quite knowing where to sit and not wanting to get super sunburned by sitting on the back deck seats, we chose to sit in the smaller I side area on the same level as the captain manning the ferry. If you do... More

We took the Expedition ferry from Lahaina to Lanai for our daughters's wedding. You have to reserve and purchase the ferry tickets ahead of time and can pick the tickets up 30 minutes before sailing. The crossing to Lanai was about 45 minutes. The ferry was small. It quite comfortable. The crossing was made on time and with comfort. I... More
