Can't believe this is still an active Church

The history behind the church was great to hear. The fact that this church is still active is really neat.

We often walk past this photo opportunity when we walk from Kaanapali Beach to Lahaina. On one occasion we were able to go inside and we were glad we did. We did not take part in the service, but wanted to see the interior. Founded in 1896, the building itself dates from 1922, so it's almost 100 years old.

My husband and I really enjoyed worshiping here. The members were very friendly and welcoming. The flower lei, ukulele playing and Tongan choir were all very special. The message was thoughtful, meaningful and wonderfully delivered. Thanks to the Lahaina United Methodist Church for a very meaningful and memorable experience!

Always feel welcomed. The congregation is very friendly and remembers us from year to year. After 6 visits there over 9 years, it feel like a "home" church.

Very welcoming! Beautiful leis were given, handmade by a church member! Hawaiian choir was a highlight of service. Minister told interesting sermon and we enjoyed his guitar and ukulele playing.

We attended the Sunday morning 9:30 service. The church was filled by the time the service began. Visitors were welcomed with leis made by one of the members. New comers introduced themselves, and then followed a typical Methodist church service. We had communion the Sunday we were there, and all were welcome to partake. At the conclusion of the service... My husband and I loved attending a church service back in December. The pastor and other church members were so welcoming to visitors and we even received beautiful handmade leis when we entered the church! The pastor played the ukulele during worship and a Hawaiian choir sang a beautiful Hawaiian song. It was so lovely! We will definitely go again... More

Very welcoming of visitors. Great congregation and service. Attend a service and stay for the fellowship coffee on the lawn. Buy some postcards from the gift shop.

The church itself was so lovely. It was founded in 1896, but the current church building was built in 1922. Inside the walls were white with dark brown carved rafters and woodwork. The stained glass windows featured beautiful local flowers and foliage. Members go out of their way to make visitors feel welcome, fresh leis for everyone and free. If... More

Besides providing a fulfilling religious experience, this church goes out of its way to welcome visitors. I received a flower lei, and all visitors stood and introduced themselves. The minister gave an excellent sermon in an engaging manner.
