The Royal course may be the most forgiving layout in West Maui (I've played the Kai course as well as both Kapalua courses). The fairways are VERY wide, with the trouble favoring only one side on most holes. While there are some elevation changes, they are not severe. The Royal course's main defense - other than the wind - are... More

Incredible...great people and great course. Played 2 private lessons, 18 holes, 2 carts, 2 bags all furnished at an fantastic, fair price. David Havens, the golf pro, is a great teacher! We talked to him personally before making the reservations. He could not have been nicer to us. He, also, helped us negotiate a price we could not resist. His... More

The Royal course at Kaanapali is one of the main reasons we usually stay at the Kaanapali resorts. The course is moderately difficult (much more so than the Kai course), and beautiful, with a lot of variety in layouts and different types of challenging shots. We usually get the triple play (three rounds for $399), so not very expensive for... More

An impromptu decision to play a "twilight" round at The Royal course provided to be a good decision. Check in was easy and friendly. Rental clubs are Nike and were a good choice for a mid-handicap player. The course was in excellent shape and the greens are challenging. The views top off the day and make for an enjoyable round.... Not a long course but wind makes up for its shortage with many holes upwind. Definitely have to respect the wind when selecting your clubs

I really like this true championship course . Very challenging from the first to last holes. Greens are super fast and been surrounds are very tightly mowed. It is expensive but it's a premium property and a PGA tour stop.

Played this course a couple of times over the years , most recently in August 2015. First, the good points: it is very well maintained , staff is friendly, and there are a few nice views of other islands from certain holes inland. Now the not so good news: honestly, none of the holes are memorable. None are played along... More

We (a couple) signed up for the joint lesson with David Havens at Royal Ka'anapali. It is pricey at $300 but besides the tuition it included water, cart, two sets of clubs (brand new Nike Vapor) and green fees. Overall we felt it was very good value. David was terrific. After a spell on the driving range he then accompanied... More

We played Foot Golf...a combo of soccer and golf...you kick a soccer ball to the pin, with the same concept as golf. Everyone gets a different colored ball (like mini golf) and the hole is much bigger for a soccer ball to fall into. The staff was terrific, from explains the rules and how it works to the ice cold...
