I really like this true championship course . Very challenging from the first to last holes. Greens are super fast and been surrounds are very tightly mowed. It is expensive but it's a premium property and a PGA tour stop.

Played this course a couple of times over the years , most recently in August 2015. First, the good points: it is very well maintained , staff is friendly, and there are a few nice views of other islands from certain holes inland. Now the not so good news: honestly, none of the holes are memorable. None are played along... More

We (a couple) signed up for the joint lesson with David Havens at Royal Ka'anapali. It is pricey at $300 but besides the tuition it included water, cart, two sets of clubs (brand new Nike Vapor) and green fees. Overall we felt it was very good value. David was terrific. After a spell on the driving range he then accompanied... More

We played Foot Golf...a combo of soccer and golf...you kick a soccer ball to the pin, with the same concept as golf. Everyone gets a different colored ball (like mini golf) and the hole is much bigger for a soccer ball to fall into. The staff was terrific, from explains the rules and how it works to the ice cold... This was our third golf course my son and I played while in Maui. After playing and experiencing the service of the other two courses, the Kaanapali Kai was okay. Upon arriving, no one came and looked after our clubs. Not that we were expecting this, and it doesn't happen at home, it was missed. We had a friend from... More

Played the harder Royal, rather than the easier Kai course. Course is surprisingly long and the greens very fast and deceiving. Starter and cart attendants were very helpful. Noticed that the red tees were around 90-110 yards in front of white tips on most of the par 4. View was nice. Just too hot. Probably would play late in the... More

Booked a round here a week in advance. Asked if I could rent clubs and was told they had a good selection. Asked if i could get something to eat before an 8:00 am tee time and told grill opened at 7. Arrived at 6:45. Checked in and then asked where grill was. Was told they had no grill just... More

kaanapali golf courses offer challenge and playability. The Kai golf course is a great test from the back tees but is playable for even a beginner golfer. I would recommend a afternoon tee time for the beginner golfer and a lesson with David Havens PGA before going out to play. Everyone at the facility is very helpful and if you... More

I celebrated my 40th birthday in Lahaina, and had a golf lesson as a gift. The instructor - David H. - is one of the kindest, nicest, down-to-earth guys you can imagine. If you're looking for an unpretentious, friendly, enjoyable place to play a round, take lesson, or just hit balls, look no further.

Had a chance to play the Kaanapali Kai course once and the Royal Kaanapali course twice during a recent trip. Short story: there is much, much more to Maui golf than Wailea and Kapalua. These two courses were in excellent condition, the greens were rolling true and fast while still holding long iron shots and the course including bunkers, rough,... More
