We have been on many whale watches. We had yet to experience this from a raft so we signed on for Pacific Whale Foundation raft watch. I do not possess enough laudatory vocabulary to write accurately about this trip. We were surrounded by Humpbacks. They spy hopped, pectoral slapped, log rolled and cavorted around and under our craft. The people... More

The Ocean Spirit is new to their fleet. They do a little whale watching and a little sailing. We saw lots of whales and the naturalists seemed very knowledgeable. The sailboat can hold 90, but they usually take 60 or less. There were 37 people the day we went. If you are member of the Pacific Whale Foundation you get... More

This is much less expensive than the commercial ventures at $40 per person and the people on the boats are passionate about what they do as they are there to study the whales, not just watch. They put a microphone down into the water and we could hear the whales singing and they knew the habits and where to go.... More

We took the Whalewatch sail on the Pacific Whale Foundations' new sailing catamaran and thorougly enjoyed the trip. It was a little more money than the special whalewatch tour they do in their bigger boat, but well worth the extra since there are less people on board and it's so peaceful when they turn off the motor and just use... On our last trip to Maui we took a PWF tour to see the whales & loved it. We loved it so much that I have donated & become one of their members. The PWF really make you feel comfortable and provided a very informative trip, not to mention the whales! This is a tour that we will do over... More

Want a nice "on the water" day? Go on the Snorkel & Dolphin Watch.....you don't have to snorkel. Includes a nice pastry, fresh fruit breakfast and a BBQ lunch. Complimentary beverages....including 1 alcoholic style. A great way to experience the water, see some nature, hear some great facts about the mammals AND support the PWF mission of dolphin & whale... This company is the best. We have been on their whale watching boats several times. They are very informative about the whales. Have to say that our trip in January 2015 was the BEST. We watched a "battle royale" of males fighting for a female. Got to see quite a show. Then on the way back to shore they spotted... More

Unbelievable display of whale activity today. Came upon pod of whales less than 10 minutes from harbor. If you plan to vacation in Maui during whale season, December through end of March, be sure to reserve your whale watch with Pacific Whale Foundation. They are not for profit, know what they are doing, and your money goes to a good... More

Our second trip on the raft and it was as good as the first time. We saw full breechesm males fighting and babies jumping. Craig is the best! It is the best way to see the whales, you have to take the raft!

We ride the tour with the foundation and the boat is big and can hold many people. We did not see a lot whales, partly due to the big boat, not easy to turn and the engine sound great. Later we ride a small boat and have many encounters with the whales. Surely, the big boat price is low, you... More
