Lots of fun. Ikaika was great, got me up and surfing on my first wave. Good prices and nice staff!

We decided to give my three kids surf lessons. We were a bit nervous at first, but the staff and specifically Benny Martin at Kaanapali beach made us more than comfortable. Benny was patient and very careful with our kids. They all had an experience that will not be forgotten. Now my wife and I are going to join them... More

A buddy of mine tried to teach me to surf once... He said to me "whaddaya reckon, left foot forward, or right?"... I didn't get a chance to find out that day... Luckily for me though at the Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy, there was someone who could properly explain all the details you need to get up on that surf... More

My husband and I were booked in for a stand up paddle boarding group lesson but in the end it was just us and so we had our instructor Ikaika's undivided attention. Ikaika was fantastic, getting us up and standing pretty quickly, and full of interesting conversation. We had heaps of time to enjoy the experience of what felt like... More

Spend more on the private lesson and it was worth it. My surfing instructor, Josh, was very patient and made surfing fun. With a private lesson I didn't have to wait my turn while the instructor took other students on the wave, but got to go one after another. I would highly recommend Josh as an instructor because I saw... More

I did a SUP lesson with Ikaika and he was great. He had us up and paddling in no time at all. This was excellent because it allowed us to focus on the scenery rather than falling off and hitting the reef. This allowed us to venture out past the reef and attempt a few waves on the way back... More

I booked my private surf lesson the day before -no trouble. I arrived at about 7:45 am and quicky got signed in, then my instructor, Ikeka gave me a pair of booties and a rash guard - then we were off for a short walk down the street to the shoreline access and the lesson site. Ikeka grabbed a couple... More

I've always wanted to try surfing but have always been too scared. My waiter at Leilanis recommended Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy. My instructor Ikaika was awesome! I couldn't believe he got me up & surfing on my first wave! I'm now hooked, I'm scheduling another lesson & this time I'm bringing the rest of my family with me!

My husband and I recently took a surf lesson at Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy and it was great! It definitely was the highlight of our vacation. The staff there are really friendly, and it was nice to have an instructor that was local, Ikaika. He was awesome! Very patient and informative. He even paddled us around when we got tired!... More

The bucket list included a try at surfing. So when recently in Maui with customers, we had to give it a try. Benny with Royal Hawaiian did an awesome job of being patient, upbeat and informative. The cost was affordable and I only wish I had taken the lesson earlier so I could have been back out on a rental... More
