Our group had a mix of students - children and adults. Most of us had never surfed. Our instructor was very patient, gave simple to understand instructions and we did several dry runs on the beach. Everyone rode a wave on the FIRST try. The instructor is with you in the water choosing the perfect wave and giving helpful tips.... More

While visiting Maui for a week we spent a great afternoon taking our first ever surfing lesson. There were six of us ranging from 10 to 45 years of age. While there are numerous different options available I would recommend you highly consider Blue Hawaiian in Lahaina. They provided us with a great memory while turning our family into "surfers"!!... My family of 5 (kids ages 9, 11 & 13) took surf lessons this week at Royal Hawaiian. It was an amazing experience - we all got up on the 1st or 2nd try!! Our surf instructors Ikaika and Tavner were wonderful - a great mix of humor and patience & encouragement! Would highly recommend the school and make sure... More

My wife and I took a lesson last week while on our honeymoon. Neither of us had surfed before. We were fortunate to land Steve Baker as our instructor. He was a funny guy and a great teacher. Unfortunately we had a week packed full of plans or we would have taken more lessons. Thanks to Steve we had a... More

Wow what a great time! I had my 16 year old twins and a 11 year old friend join me for a 2 hour group lesson. We lucked out and got the same instructor we had two years ago... Josh was great with the kids and even was able to give me some pointers... Within the first three waves, everyone... More

This is a must do. We were a party of 9, between the ages of 8 and 40, all of us novices at surfing (never even touched a board). They provided us 3 great instructors that easily trained and handled all of us. The waves were great and relentless. Great spot and a perfect day. Kai, Steve and Cam were... More

My wife and I had low expectations for our private surf-lesson with Josh B. Our goal was to stand up on a wave at some point in the lesson. After some very intuitive and useful instruction on the beach, we found ourselves out on the water. We can't speak highly enough about Josh's instruction: he broke the process down into... More

Dude! Too much fun. I went out on a private surf lesson with Josh this morning. It was nothing short of a perfect experience. Surfing with Josh was like surfing with an old friend, except he let me take all the best waves :) I've never been surfing before but I've been doing board sports since I was a kid.... More

Spent a week in Maui...learned to paddleboard and surf. The whole family got in on the action. Highly recommend Marcel--informative, fun and laid back. Marcel and the whole team made our trip very memorable.

I booked a private lesson for my daughter (she's 15) and me and did not regret it!!! Our instructor, Tanner, was absolutely amazing! He was funny and made us feel comfortable out in the water. Neither of us had surfed before and we each got up on our first wave. The whole experience was great and I definitely recommend it!!!
