I had an awesome week with Lucas hooking me up with a board everyday and Kalani's private on Monday had me on my own 7 am each day having the time of my life. I would highly recommend these guys for an awesome experience and just good people to talk surf with. They opened early and let me have at... More

We had two semi private lessons with Ikaia and Tanner. We have three kids 9,7, and 5. All of them got up! The instructors were very nice kept it fun and my kids would do it again! We also purchased the pictures at the end. Very nicely done. I was impressed with their ease with the kids. Great location, short... More

My teenage daughter took lessons on March 20 at the Marriot location in Maui. She had a great time and was able to get up on board on her first try! It was a group lesson and Mau was her instructor. Although there were about 16 kids taking lessons all at the same time, four to one was the ratio... More

We had the best time learning to surf. Ikaika was our teacher, and he was excellent. He got us all up, my husband, our 11 year old daughter, our 8 year old daughter and myself...all on our first try. What a fun experience to ride those gentle waves on a long board in gorgeous Maui. The staff was also really... More

I loved my experience at Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy. Our instructor was very helpful! My partner and I both did really well. The one thing I didn't like was the location we actually went to surf. It's right next to a rock wall and there are rocks all over the floor. I guess that helps with staying on the board... More

We booked the 10:30 am beginners group lesson, and we're lucky, because it turned out semi-private - only one other student, a 13yr old fellow Canadian! Luana checked us in, and when asked, chatted easily about her surfing experience. She was friendly and helpful. Steve was our instructor, and though he started out, I thought, kinda "over da top, bra'",... More

Had a great experience at RHSA. We went in Lahaina where, we were told, the waves are a little better. Our instructor was Ikaika and he worked with the whole family to make sure we got up and stayed up for a little chaka style time. He even showed us a headstand on his way in! Really fun. Go early... First of all convenience of having it right next to our hotel/lMarriott Ocean Club. Kalonii (sp) was awesome with our kids as was Bear. They offer them shirts and shoes to wear. Kaloni goes farther out, pushes them at right time and tells them when to stand up. Bear waits in the shallow part and helps them get out on... More

My dad my friends and I did not know if we would like surfing until we met Josh Riccio. It was by far the one of the best things of my trip. Josh would always cheer us on and help us if we needed it. If you want a great day and surfing experience visit Josh Riccio at the Westin... More

We've surfed here 3 times and have loved it every time. We had Tavner every time and he was great! I would totally recommend the Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy to anyone over any other surf school in the area.
