The Bay Course opened in 1975 and in that time has hosted over 20 major professional tournaments - the most of any neighbor island course in the state of Hawaii. From the first live prime-time televised event in golf at the 1983 Kapalua International to the Kapalua LPGA classic some 25 years later, The Bay Course has consistently faced the best players in golf and withstood the test of time and technology. The Bay Course is a championship course that is as challenging as it is beautiful. Known for its breathtaking 5th hole, the only hole to play over the ocean on Maui, it should certainly be on the "must play" list for any golfer visiting Maui.

Started off by not being able to play the plantation course due to it undergoing maintenance and aeration. Kind of had my hopes down to start with but I was impressed thoroughly with the course conditions and difficulty. Driving range is al little weird with the simulated golf balls. Views were great and course had some difficulty to it just... More

This course does have some holes with beautiful views of the water and is well maintained but not as challenging as I would have hoped and a little pricey for what you get, Rental clubs have seen better days and service was just ok. Not worth the hour drive from Walea.

Absolutely beautiful course with some amazing views. It winds down beside the Ritz and beside (and over!) the ocean. Bring your camera, for sure!

We played the Bay Course 2 days after we played at the Plantation course Please note that this course is not in Lahaina but in Kapalua - a short drive from the Plantation course Whilst this course is not the PGA tour course and does not have the fancy clubhouse that the plantation course has - it is unique in... This and the Plantation course are located right next to the Ritz were I was staying. I played this course twice and it was a great time. Many of the holes are next to the ocean so you get a lot of sea breeze, but thats a welcome thing if you are playing in the afternoon when the sun is... More

My husband and I LOVED this course. We both golf with a 20 handicap and have played many different courses everywhere but this was absolutely our favorite. It was so beautiful with awesome views. It was very fun to play with different challenges but not overly difficult and the greens weren't super fast or tricky. It is definitely expensive but... More

We played the Bay Course twice. It is dramatic in setting and challenging golf. There were views and turtle sightings. We had a ball, would go back.

First, the Bay Course is not in Lahaina. It is in Kapalua which is several miles, and about a 25 minute drive from Lahaina, and a totally different landscape and environment. Anyone thinking Lahaina or trying to find it there will be at a loss. It's quite a good course, player-friendly for a broad range of handicaps; many of the... More

I could definitely play The Bay Course at Kapalua everyday of my retirement. Built in 1975 this Arnold Palmer design is very hilly with generous fairways and many having great views of the ocean. I found the greens to be quite large with subtle breaks that are hard to read because of the optical illusion caused by the West Maui... More

Since this part of the island is extremely windy, and the bermuda in the rough is very tall, is very easy to lose your golf balls. Ups, downs, hills. Very entertaining course. Practice your chipping before playing.
