The reviews here were correct. The raft is the way to go. Our experience was amazingly intimate with the ocean and the whales, not parked on some top deck of a big boat. Our captain kept up with the cruising whales and maneuvered for us to get the best photos and videos, and was entertaining too. Great time!

We recently did two whale watches with Ultimate Whale Watch and had one excellent experience and one so-so. The first one we did put us right in a great spot and we were able to get some close-up views of several whales. It was great. The crew was great and really enjoyed the trips. The second one was not as... More

This was our 4th time taking the whale watching tour with them. Going out in the Zodiak raft is the best way by far to see the whales. Each time we have went out we have had whales close to the boat or going under the boat. The crew is knowledgable and they make sure everyone is having a good... More

This whale watching tour is up close and personal. It is thrilling and little scary - definitely fun! You are on a Zodiak (rubber) raft that holds about 18 people. We had also gone on a large catamaran whale watching tour and loved them both - they are just different experiences. Ultimate is just unique as you are in the... More

Ultimate Whale Watch operates out of slip 17 in the Lahaina Habour. They have a couple of pontoon style boats that takes 18 passengers maximum. This is something to consider. There are other outfits that have much larger boats and offer food and drink but they don't have the agility to move around the whales like the smaller boats do.... More

Guides were amazing and just as excited as the passengers to see the whales. Went for sunset cruise and saw lots of whales fighting, even saw a baby. The sunset was beautiful also. Amazing adventure, don't miss it. Boat could get to the whales faster than other boats.

Don't remember what the pricing difference is but, VIP tour is a nice boat with no more than 8 PAX. Captain Amy was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating.

we booked this tour because we wanted the smaller group feeling and with a maximum seating of 18 per trip that is exactly what we got......Capt. Ryan was our skipper on this trip and he was very knowledgeable about whales and their habits...now for the best part...being that you are in a smaller boat the zips around faster then the... More

The captain and the crew are very knowledgable about the whales and respectful of their space. We saw many whales, mothers and calves and escorts. The Ultimate Whale Watch is the boat to go out on for a Maui memory to see whales.
