We drove up to Kula specifically to see these gardens. They were beautiful and well worth the $10 admission fee. Beautiful Proteas and other tropicals that we had not seen before. I would recommend this stop if you are in the area.

Stopped here last week when we were looking for something to do in the area. I'm not usually a fan of botanical gardens, but several members of my family are. Price is $10 a person if I remember, but it is certainly worth it. You can spend over an hour here walking through the beautiful gardens and learning about the... More

The gardens of Hawaii are amazing and Kula is especially wonderful. So many strange and gorgeous plants and flowers, it is just lovely.

Covering only a couple of acres, it is amazing variety of specimens, particularly the proteas which we have never seen in so many varieties. A long trip up the mountain, but on the way to the Kula Lodge, so it's a nice day trip Upcountry Maui.

The views from Kula are wonderful and the climate in the garden is nearly perfect. The garden is not huge and the admission is $10 per person, but it makes for a relaxing hour or two stroll. When certain plants are in bloom, some spectacular sights can be found. Check out the two endangered Nene geese here as well.

This was well worth the drive, trees flowers and views are all top notch. Handicap accessible with lots of resting areas with seats. We were very impressed. It is located high in the hills so there is a temperature differential about 10* cooler than the resort areas. Nice, very nice. A plant persons must see!!

We visited the gardens after reading the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were disappointed - probably due to our expectations based on the reviews and on other botanical gardens we have visited on other trips. The Kula gardens are relatively small and we found the USD 10 per person entrance fee not worth it. Instead of visiting the gardens we... More

This Kula Botanical Garden visit was very enjoyable. We may have been the only visitors that December afternoon. The trails are eminently walkable and well maintained. The flora is beautiful in its natural setting and we spent at least two hours strolling through. Follow the driving directions, as it's just a bit off the main Haleakala Highway. No problem, though.... More

Beautiful, well-kept little botanical garden with amazing proteas, blue ginger, orchids, and countless other specimen plants, many obviously very old and beloved. Most plants are well-identified with markers. The landscaping is lovely. We took a leisurely walk around with the map provided, spent about 2 hours poking around, every turn a delight. Even our teen son enjoyed himself. Only small... More
