If you are driving up country this is worth a stop but I wouldn't recommend making this the focus of a trip up country. The lavendar farm is quite small. If the weather is nice, you get amazing views from high up on haleakala slopes. The farm is more like a garden with several areas of lavendar and pathways leading... More

Smells great. The day we went was a lovely cool misty day. All most raining. The parking lot is quiet steep, ease be careful of your heavy car door on the slope. Our ladies had a great time looking and smelling everything. They enjoyed the shopping.

My husband and I loved it so much! The farm itself is beautiful, so many varieties of lavender! During the tour ($12 each person) they cut a flower from each one and give you to smell. By the time you a re done you go home with a little cute bouquet of lavender flowers. There are many many other plants... More

We drove right past the place because we were looking for Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm not AKL as they have now labeled everything. We ended up on a very challenging road (for the rental mini van), and based on the traffic going up, we weren't the only ones. The directions on their brochures are good - but we didn't see... More

This area of the island is so different from the beaches and the cities. Yes, still touristy, but in a different way, plus, all these farms are on your way up to Haleakala, so you're going to pass the area anyway. We didn't get to visit O_o Farm or Surfing Goat Dairy, although I assume we would have loved them... More

I was excited! Everywhere were beautiful photographic images of a smiling Hawaiian farmer in a field of lavender. Lavender! Who doesn't like lavender? We would get to see the up country, the fields of numerous varieties of lavender and the shops with lavender products like tea, lotions, candles, foods! I fell for it. My traveling companion is from Oregon, where... More

AKL is worth visiting for many reasons. It's a short detour if you're on the way to (or returning from) Haleakala crater, but even if you're not heading further up-country, it's worth taking at least a half day away from the beach for this. AKL is a little rugged walking (surfaces are not level and some are downright steep for... More

When we visited we were given a discount to enter, which was great They had a Holiday special. Normal entry fee is $3.00 a person. The lavender farm is small, so not a lot of walking.. However, we still managed to spend 2 hours exploring the flowers/taking pictures. They also have an adventure hunt for kiddos... They have a café... More

This is worth a visit just for the surprising and amazing view! The first thing I noticed stepping out of the car was how peaceful and quiet it was-- the second was the smell of lavender-- the third was the view. The gardens are along a hillside and you have an amazing view of the valley and even the ocean... More
